About this tour

This 4-day adventure combines Mongolia's iconic Naadam Festival with wilderness exploration, beginning with Ulaanbaatar's vibrant opening ceremony featuring the UNESCO-listed 'Three Manly Games' (horse racing, wrestling, archery). Day two offers thrilling horse racing action and a safari in Khustai National Park to spot wild takhi horses and other wildlife. The journey continues to the Mini Gobi's Moltsog Sand Dunes for desert hikes and camel trekking amid a unique semi-desert landscape, before returning to Ulaanbaatar. Included are Opening Ceremony tickets, meals, entrance fees, and an English-speaking guide,

Day 1: Join the Naadam Festival's opening ceremony in Ulaanbaatar.

Key highlights include Parade of Athletes, Cultural Performances, Sacred Rituals and Eagle Dance. The ceremony sets the stage for the "Three Manly Games" (horse racing,

wrestling, and archery), blending sport, heritage, and national pride - a UNESCO listed tradition dating back 2,000+ years.

Day 2: Travel to UB’s main racecourse to watch the traditional horse racing - Mongolia’s extreme equestrian sport.

Then, drive from Ulaanbaatar to Khustai National Park, known for its majestic wild horses, Takhi - a true symbol of Mongolia’s wildlife revival. While sightings are never guaranteed (they are wild, after all!), our guides will use their expertise to track recent

movements, maximizing your chances of a memorable encounter. Beyond the iconic takhi, the park is home to red deer, Mongolian gazelles, marmots, foxes, and a variety of bird species.

Day 3: Drive to Dornogovi Province to explore Moltsog Sand Dunes, one of Mongolia’s hidden gems, where golden sands merge with grassy steppe in a striking semi-desert landscape. Spot wild foxes, gazelles, and jerboas, then embark on a camel trek across the dunes for an authentic desert adventure—complete with sunset views over this tranquil wilderness.
