Bokurdak Semi-Nomadic Village (90 km north of Ashgabat)
Bokurdak is a small settlement where residents maintain a traditional way of life and preserve ancient crafts. You'll see how families live in yurts and adapt to the harsh desert conditions. The village is known for raising sheep and camels, and you'll learn how locals tend to their herds. During the excursion, you'll have the chance to try your hand at carpet weaving and interact with the villagers, learning about their traditions and daily life. The tour will conclude with a traditional meal cooked over an open fire using local ingredients, where you'll taste dishes that residents prepare in their homes. This day will give you a unique opportunity to connect with the culture and way of life in Turkmenistan. Activities: Traditional crafts: alaja weaving, felt-making, keshte-embroidery; Workshops on baking traditional chorek in tamdyr, as well as preparing pishme and ishlekli.
