One-Day Kok Moinok Canyons & Rafting On The Chu River

Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Boom Gorge, Kyrgyzstan

Meeting at 8:00 am. We sit in the car and drive towards the Boom Gorge. Travel time to the drop-off point on the Chu River is approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival at the start point, we put on wetsuits and have all the necessary equipment for rafting by a mountain river, then we have a short brief demonstration of paddling and manage the boat, after which we sit down on rafts and raft down the river. A driver with a vehicle will wait for us at the final point. After emotional recharging and pleasant impressions from the rafting, we change wetsuits for our usual clothes, and driving to the Boom gorge, where we can have lunch at a roadside cafe. After lunch, we are ahead to the second part of our program, a trip to the Kok Moinok canyons. The Kok Moinok canyons got their name because they were accessible near the village of the same name in the Boom Gorge. These are the yellow-red sandstone with a depth of 10 to 70m and the length of the canyons is different and varies from 100 m to 2.5 km.
