Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Tamgaly-Tas, Kazakhstan
Tour program: 8:30-8:45 – meeting of all participants 09:00 – departure from Almaty 11:00-12:30 – arrival to the Tamgaly-Tas tract. Walkthrough the places with rock paintings and petroglyphs 14:00-15:00 – lunch 15:00 – departure to Almaty Our small expedition will give you an opportunity to feel like an archaeologist-researcher and try to reveal the secrets of an ancient civilization. Tamgaly-Tas is a "stone library" of Kazakhstan, a natural landmark near the Ili River with a lot of petroglyphs, images of mysterious divinities, and late Buddhist inscriptions depicted on the surface of rocks. In Tamgaly-Tas you can also find several ancient Turkic runic inscriptions of VIII-IX centuries.
