Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Elsen Tasarkhai, Mongolia

Our guide and driver will pick you at an arranged time. Then, we will head toward to Elsen Tasarkhai (Sole Sand Dunes) which is unique and historical site. The long strip of sand dunes covering an area of 47000 hectares, this park contains many historical monuments, forests of silver birches and poplar trees, and sources. So, we can find a fauna and a flora that are characteristic of these two ecosystems, and also some wonderful landscapes. Here we will visit Khogno Khan, granite Formation Mountain. It is a unique place, many different forms of natural landscapes, Gobi sand dunes, forests and Rocky Mountains. We will have an opportunity to hike on the small sand dunes. You also can camel trek through the Mini Gobi Desert. Here we will visit nomadic family at Tsogtoo’s family to learn from their tradition and culture and experience the nomadic life such as milking cow and goat.

Day 2: Elsen Tasarkhai (Sand Dune Mini Gobi), Mongolia to Elsen Tasarkhai, Mongolia

We will spend the whole day with the nomadic family participating in their daily work. We will learn how to make Mongolian traditional food and dairy products. You can also have your own free time and ride horses. In the evening, we will play Mongolian game called “Shagai” with ankle bones.

Day 3: Elsen Tasarkhai, Mongolia to Hustain Nuruu - Biosphere Reserve - Hustai National Park, Mongolia

After breakfast at the nomadic family, we will drive to the Khustai National Park. This is the place where you can see the Takhi or Przewalski wild horses, which went to extinction at the end of the 19th century in Mongolia, and have been recently reintroduced to Mongolia in the Khustai Mountains. First, we will visit the national park information center. Together with a camp guide we will drive deep into the Khustai Mountain (about 10 km by dirt, and search for the horses and see them and take pictures with them.

Day 4: Hustain Nuruu - Biosphere Reserve - Hustai National Park, Mongolia

We will visit nomadic family in the park. Today you can ride horses and learn more about the wild horses from the family. We will make friends with the family and help them with the chores such as picking up dung. Here, you have a great opportunity to take part in local people for their daily work such us giving an animal water to drink, helping with the goat milking, cleaning the fence, collecting firewood and herding sheep. We will stay in boutique ger ( comfort style)

Day 5: Hustain Nuruu - Biosphere Reserve - Hustai National Park, Mongolia to Gorkhi Terelj National Park, Улаанбаатар, Mongolia

We will travel about 2-3 hours to the great statue of Chinggis Khan, and this is where the fun begins. This statue is not only the largest statue of Chinggis Khan in Mongolia but in the entire world. Its height is 40 meters (130 feet). From the visitor’s center, the top of the statue is accessible by elevator. This vantage point provides great photo opportunities. Then we will go hiking around the Park and enjoy the view. Today you will have the opportunity to stay in a ger camp that has toilet/shower facilities

Day 6: Gorkhi Terelj National Park, Улаанбаатар, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Today we have a lot of things to do. After breakfast, we will ride a for an hour in the green field through Zurkhaich valley and will head to Turtle rock, which is the first sight of the program. Turtle rock is the biggest animal shaped unique rocks located in the resort area and it looks identical to a giant turtle on a hill. Next sight is Ariyabal Meditation temple which is very well known old temple standing in the middle of mountain and view from temple is just amazing. Then we will have lunch with a nomadic family there. We will go back to Ulaanbaatar city after exploring the Park and drop you off at your hotel.
