Panch Pokhari, a cluster of five sacred lakes in Nepal's Sindhupalchowk District, stands as the 9th highest-altitude wetland globally. A haven for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, it remains a pristine and relatively unexplored gem of nature, boasting breathtaking scenery and diverse flora and fauna. As a key feature of Langtang National Park, it earned a spot on Nepal's postage stamp in 2011. Nestled at 4,100m above sea level, this trekking destination offers a cultural immersion into Tamang and Sherpa traditions. For those seeking a spiritual and serene retreat, Panch Pokhari is an ideal camping trek, providing an escape into the stunning landscapes of Sindhupalchowk.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life, who wouldn't crave an extraordinary nature getaway? Panch Pokhari stands out as one of the world's most beautiful places, offering breathtaking views of the charming settlements and the mesmerizing lake system in Sindhupalchowk.
We start our journey from Kathmandu to Chhimti local bus stop. After reaching Chhimti we can hike up to Tupi Danda, so we can make our hiking easy the next day. The 1st day of the Trek was all about climbing uphills and our last stop for the day was Tuppi Danda (Known as Brongdogyang in the local Tamang language), which crossed through Deurali, a day stop for many people, but moved ahead to Tuppi Danda and had a nice stay at Kale Dai’s homestay.
Chilly early morning, journey that encountered multiple Chhortens and a beautiful stone-paved trail accompanied by beautiful Rhododendron forest and autumn leaves all over. The light of the setting sun added a golden touch to the surroundings. We could see a beautiful panoramic view of that area from there. The view looks mesmerizing throughout the trail. Crossing through Chhata Ghabha (a narrow passage having religious importance in Hindu and Buddhist mythology), rocky terrains, steep hills, and grueling stairs we will reach Lauri Bina and then finally enter the Panchpokhari area. An overwhelming moment feels like being in a hermetic land.
Early in the morning, we will head toward Chhimti from Panch Pokhari to conclude our trek which will be our last stay,
