This trip takes you inside Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP) on a strenuous 5-day trek to Rush Lake, altitude 4,694 metres (15,400 ft). Rush Lake is one of the highest alpine lakes in Pakistan just 15 km (9 mi) north of Miar peak and Golden peak (Spantik). CKNP encompasses some of the world’s highest peaks and largest glaciers. Internationally renowned for mountaineering, rock climbing and trekking opportunities, it covers an area of about 10,000 sq. km and contains the greatest concentration of high mountains on earth. You will enjoy stunning views of K2, Miar and Golden Peaks from Rush Peak (5098m). Also included is a stay at Camp Leo, a glamping site in Hopper Valley and sightseeing in Nagar, Ganesh, and Hunza. Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Islamabad, Pakistan to Danyore Main Chowk Gilgit, Danyor
We will drive from Islamabad to Danyore in Gilgit-Baltistan and rest for the night.
Day 2: Danyore Main Chowk Gilgit, Danyor to Hopper Valley, Hunza Nagar
We will drive from Danyore to Hopper Valley. Night stay at glamping site Camp Leo.
Day 3: Hoppar Village to Bericho Kor Camping Site
Rush Lake Trek Day 1: Departure 9am from Hopper valley, cross Barpu glacier, night stay at Bericho Kor (3300m) camping site.
Day 4: Bericho Kor Camping Site to Rush Phari Camp Site
Rush Lake Trek Day 2: Breakfast 6:30am, trek towards Rush lake (break for lunch), night stay at Rush Phari (4400m) camping site.
Day 5: Rush Phari Camp Site to Phahi Phari Camping Site
Rush Lake Trek Day 3: Breakfast 6:00am, climb towards Rush peak (5098m) view point for K2, Miar and Golden (Spantik ) peaks. Return from Rush peak and stop for lunch at Rush Phari . Trek towards Phahi Phari (3450m) camping site (night stay).
Day 6: Phahi Phari Camping Site to Hamdar Valley
Rush Lake Trek Day 4: Breakfast 8am, cross Miar glacier. Night stay at Hamdar valley camping site.
Day 7: Hamdar Valley to Hopper Valley, Hunza Nagar
Rush Lake Trek Day 5: Breakfast 8:30am, cross Hopper glacier and return to Hoper valley. Stay at Camp Leo.
Day 8: Hopper Valley, Hunza Nagar to Baltit Fort, Karimabad
Spend the day visiting natural landmarks and historical sites in the Hunza-Nagar region.
Day 9: Karimabad to Danyore Main Chowk Gilgit, Danyor
First day of return leg. Night stay in Danyore.
Day 10: Danyore Main Chowk Gilgit, Danyor to Islamabad, Pakistan
Reach Islamabad. End of journey.
