Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, Тоshkent, Uzbekistan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
PM. Arrival in Tashkent from by flight Meet with guide at the airport exit and transfer to hotel. Dinner at local restaurant. Short bus tour through evening city. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Khiva, Uzbekistan
AM. Breakfast at hotel or breakfast-boxes. 04:00 Transfer to airport and flight to Urgench by HY-51 at 06:00-07:30. Arrival in Urgench and transfer to Khiva (30 km = 45 min). Khiva is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, and has the second largest population in the Khorezm Region, after Urgench. . SS of Khiva including: -Kelte Minar & Muhammad Amin Khan Madrassah -Kunya ark (XVII c) – an inner fortress with administrative buildings, gunpowder works, law courts, mosque; -Pakhlavan Makhmud complex (XIV – XIX c) – the most remarkable architecture memorial complex in Khiva with unique tiles. -Ak-Sheikh Baba Observation platform PM. Check in hotel. Lunch with traditional Khorezmian cuisine. Continue of SS: -Islam Khodja minaret and madrassah (1908) – 45 m high is the highest building in Khiva with, the observation area. -Djuma mosque (X – XVII c) a cathedral mosque, the roof of which lies on 212 wooden fretted columns with unique acoustics and original technical ideas natural of lighting Mausoleum of Seyi d Alaudin (XIV c) with its gravestone made from colored majolica in unique among world architectural ceramics -Tash Hovli Palace – summer residence of Khiva Khans – was built in the first half of the nineteenth century. Day 3: Khiva, Uzbekistan to Bukhara, Uzbekistan
AM. Breakfast at hotel or breakfast-boxes. 05:00. Drive to Bukhara by car(8 hours) Arrival in Bukhara. Bukhara - as mentioned in the holy Avesta book Bukhara is one of the most ancient Uzbek towns built on the sacred hill of spring time offerings put by Zoroastrians. The name “Bukhara is derived from the Sanskrit world “Vihara” Numizhkat, Madinat-us-Suphia, Madinat-ut-Tudjar, Fakhira. PM. Check in hotel. Lunch at local restaurant. Start sightseeing: -Lyabi – Haus (XVI – XVII c) – a complex with Nodir – Devon Begi madrassah, khanaka and big pool surrended by trees Dinner at local restaurant Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Bukhara, Uzbekistan
AM. Breakfast at hotel. All day sightseeing of Bukhara: -ARK Fortress (VI – XIX c) -Bolo Khauz Mosque (1712) Mosque Near the Pool. -Chashma Ayub Mausoleum -Samanid’s mausoleum (IX – X c) – it was the first building in Central Asia constructed from backed bricks in the shape of a cube covered by a dome with unrepeatable geometrical brickwork design – a masterpiece of world architecture/ . PM. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue Sightseeing: -Poikalon complex (XII – XVI c) architectural ensemble in the center of old Bukhara – includes the cathedral mosque “Masjidi Kalon”, “Miri Arab” madrasah and the highest minaret (46 m) at that time in the Orient. -Trading Domes consists of three trading centers: Tok-i-Zargaron (1570) – Jeweler’s Bazaar, Tok-i-Tilpak Furushon – Cap Maker’s Bazaar, Tok-i-Sarrafon – Moneychanger’s Bazaar. -Magoki Attori – in 937 the four-pillared mosque was burn the ground in a city-wide fire and in the 12th century the present mosque was erected, from which the focus of the mosque, the original southern portal remains. -Chor-Minor – unique and one of the most surprising buildings in Bukhara with four minarets - one for each corner. It was built in 1807, by Turkmen merchant Khalif Niyazkul. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Bukhara, Uzbekistan to Samarkand, Uzbekistan
AM. Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Samarkand via Gijduvan city. -Gijduvan city is famous with Ceramic Pottery. There are potteries of 5th generation in Gijduvan. -Visit Ceramic Pottery Workshop and Master’s House. Watch full process of Ceramic making and small house-museum of ceramic Continue driving to Samarkand. PM. Arrival and have Lunch at local restaurant. SS of Samarkand: -Registan Square (XV–XVIIc) official center of Timur Empire, consist of grandiose Madrassah of Ulugbek, Sher Dor & Tillya Kari. -Gur Amir mausoleum (XV c) – Timurids dynastic burial vault. Dinner at national house, get acquainted with Uzbek Family life. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Samarkand, Uzbekistan to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
AM. Breakfast at hotel. SS of Samarkand: -Bibi Khanum mosque (XIVc) built by Timur to be biggest mosque at time. Architect, craftsmen & painters built in 5 years long. -Siab Bazaar – main bazaar of Samarkand, staying on the crossroad of ancient trading routes. -Watch the process of making famous Uzbek bread -Shahi Zinda mausoleum (XIV–XV c) ‘Town of Dead’ a complex of more than 20 unique buildings of different ages. -“Konigil Meros” Water Mill & Paper Factory – the craftsmen of organization “Konigil Meros” produce hand made Samarkand Paper by ancient recipe from mulberry tree bark. PM. Lunch at local restaurant. -Ulugbek’s Observatory (XV c) 1st observatory in orient with 30m sextant built by Ulugbek to make exact astronomical catalogue -Afrosiab museum & Afrosiab Hill – Remarkable ancient wall paintings are exhibited in museum. 16:00 transfer to station and take train “Afrosiab” to Tashkent at 17:11-19:21. Arrival and have dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport, Тоshkent, Uzbekistan
AM. Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing of Tashkent: -Khast Imom Complex including Barak Khan Madrassah, Kaffal Shashi mausoleum, Quran Library & Mosque. -Chorsu bazaar – main oriental market in Tashkent -Kukeldash Madrassah (XVI c) – The grand 16th c. Madrassah has domed courtyard. Now the building is returned to service as an Islamic school. PM. Lunch at Chinese restaurant. Continue SS: -Amir Temur Square – central park with the statue of Amir Temur on the horseback and so called “Broadway”. -Tashkent Metro stations -Independence (Mustakillik) Square – former “Red Squire” the main squire of the Tashkent with the monument to victims of the WW II. -Navoi Theatre – (from outside) this is one of the building in Tashkent which has its own personality. Planning and construction is started in 1940 and Japanese prisoners of war completed construction in 1947. -Japanese Cemetery Dinner at local restaurant. 18:00 Transfer to airport for flight
