Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Фараб, Туркменистан to Мары, Туркменистан
-Meet our English speaking guide at the Farap border and pass customs -Drive to Mary. -Have a lunch in local restaurant. -Visit Great Kyz Kala and other historical sites. -Upon arrival, take an excursion to Ancient Merv. Merv, located on the former banks of the Murghab River, was the most important Silk Road center in the region, especially as the regional capital under the Seljuk governor Sanjar. Merv is the name of five urban centres that existed under different names from the 6th century BC to the 18th century AD. -Overnight stay at a hotel in Mary
Day 2: Мары, Туркменистан to Ашхабад, Туркменистан
-Early breakfast at hotel. -Then drive to Mary (Merv) -Hotel check in Ashgabat. Rest time -Have a lunch at local rerstaurant -Visit Old Nisa, the ancient Parthian fortress and UNESCo heritage site. -Explore Saparmurat Ruhy Mosque and Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex in Bekrewe -Visit the Ashgabat Hippodrome to see the world - famous Ahalteke horses. -Have a dinner -Have night tour in Ashgabat -Overnight stay in Ashgabat.
Day 3: Ашхабад, Туркменистан to Darvaza Gas Crater, Дарваза, Туркменистан
-Early breakfast at hotel. -Alem Cultural & Entertainment Centre – largest indoor Ferris wheel. -Panoramic drive past Constitution Monument and Monument of Neutrality. -Lunch at famous restaurant -Rest time -Check out from the hotel and travel to the legendary Darvaza Gas Crater, a highlight of Turkmenistan (275 km, approx. 4 hours). Known as the “Door to Hell,” this fiery crater has been blazing for over half a century, illuminating the Karakum Desert with an intense and mesmerizing glow. -Arrive at Darvaza, admire the “Gates of Hell” and enjoy a traditional dinner “gazanlama” near the glowing crater. -Overnight stay in a yurt camp under the desert stars.
Day 4: Darvaza Gas Crater, Дарваза, Туркменистан to Кёнеургенч, Туркменистан
-Breakfast near the crater. Enjoy the sunrise at the crater. -Drive to Kunya Urgench (approx. 4 hrs) -Arrive to Dashoguz and have lunch in local cafe. -Visit the Koneurgench, the ancient capital of Khorezm (UNESCO 2005). Explore historical landmarksa such as the mausoleums of II Arslan, Soltan Tekesh, Nejmeddin Kubra, Soltan Ali and Turabek-Khanum Mausoleum. Do not miss the Kutlug Timur Minaret. -Transfer to Shavaat border crossing to Bukhara in Uzbekistan, commonly used by travellers continuing their Central Asia trip.
