Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Ala Archa National Park, Бишкек, Kyrgyzstan
Transfer from the airport to the hotel in Bishkek. After a little bit rest, we head to the Ala Archa National Park, situated not far from Bishkek. There we will have a stroll till the beautiful waterfall, surrounded by rocky mountains. The nature of this National Park is stunning and incredible, and you should definitely see it! Return to Bishkek, accommodation in a hotel.
Day 2: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Kyzart, Kyrgyzstan
Start of our journey towards famous Song-Kol lake, situated in the center of the Kyrgyzstan. We will arrive to Kyzart village, will have a lunch with a local family and will continue our way to the summer pasture called Kilemche on the horses, where we will stay for this night in a yurt camp.
Day 3: Kyzart, Kyrgyzstan to Song-Kul, Kyrgyzstan
We continue our way on the horseback to incredible Song-Kol lake situated at the altitude of 3016 above sea level. By taking one of the mountains passes, on top of it we will have a nice view over this lake. Arriving to the yurt camp at the north shore of the Song-Kol lake. Accommodation in a yurt. Possibility to have a stroll in the afternoon to the nearest hills. We will meet our driver at the yurt camp.
Day 4: Song-Kul, Kyrgyzstan to Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan
After visiting and seeing one of the high alpine lakes of Kyrgyzstan, we head to another bigger lake, in fact the second biggest alpine lake in the world, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan – Issyk-Kul Lake. Quite a long drive till we reach our destination – the south shore of the lake, Ak-Sai canyons, where we will stay in yurts for this night. Possibility to swim in the lake, as well as to hike in the evening to see a breathtaking sunset from the panoramic point.
Day 5: Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan to Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
For this morning we will meet a real eagle hunter, a representative of an ancient nomadic art of hunting, who will tell and show us a demonstration of the hunting. Then we will see a famous Fairytale canyon (Skazka canyon), the rocks and hills of which have various shapes and colors and are really as they have come out from a fairytale. A stroll of 1-2 hours to admire its beauty, then we continue our way to Jeti-Oguz (translated as “Seven bulls” from Kyrgyz language) – a big red sandy rock formation, a popular tourist destination. A short walk to reach the panoramic view over the valley. After that we drive to Karakol town, an administrative center of Issyk-Kul region, where we will stay for the night.
Day 6: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan
Karakol town is also largely known by its ski station, the biggest in Kyrgyzstan. Our way lies to this place, because the view over the Karakol valley from the top of the ski station (3040 m) is magnificent. We will climb all the way up to the highest point of the station and will return to Karakol town by the lunch time. Then we have a city tour to explore the hidden treasures of this historical town, built by Russian in the end of 19th century, and we will get to know more about Kyrgyzstan’s history. Accommodation in a guest house in Karakol.
Day 7: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to Jyrgalan, Kyrgyzstan
A day trip from Karakol to one of the beautiful valleys in Kyrgyzstan – Jyrgalan, that has rich pastures and lush forests. A walk of approximately 5 hours to see all the beauty of this place. Return to Karakol.
Day 8: Karakol, Kyrgyzstan to Chon-Kemin, Kyrgyzstan
A long drive to Chon-Kemin valley, another destination that attracts tourists all over the world by its picturesque nature and beautiful forests. There we will have a possibility to make a horseback riding to see more and better view over the valley from the surrounding hills.
Day 9: Chon-Kemin, Kyrgyzstan to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Return to Bishkek. On the way we will stop at the Burana tower, an ancient architectural complex dated from the 10th century AC, built during the blossom of The Great Silk Road. This is one of the rare architectural sites of Kyrgyzstan that is definitely worth visiting to get to know more about the Silk Road heritage and the history of Kyrgyzstan during that period of time. After a visit to the tower, we will have a lunch with a Dungan family, one of the ethnicities of Kyrgyzstan, originated from China and who are muslims. They have enriched the Kyrgyz cuisine and we will taste their delicious food. Arriving to Bishkek, free time to buy some souvenirs on the market. Accommodation in a hotel in Bishkek.
