Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Dashoguz, Turkmenistan to Door to Hell, Derweze, Turkmenistan
Day 1 Dashouguz – Darvaza Gas Crater Before noon cross the border meet your guide at the border who will help with crossing procedures. In the afternoon drive to Darvaza gas crater located in the middle of Karakum desert (280km, 4h). Arrive at the crater, set up the camp. Enjoy a delicious fire-cooked meal for dinner near. Overnight in yurt Meals: Dinner
Day 2: Door to Hell, Derweze, Turkmenistan to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan
Day 2 Darwaza to Ashgabat In the morning depart to Ashgabat (280 km, 4 h). Afternoon, start the day with a sightseeing tour in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan that has recently been noted by the Guinness Book of World Records as having more white marble buildings than any other city in the world. During the city tour you will explore an archaeological site of Old Nisa included in UNESCO World Heritage list, the Monument of Neutrality, Ertugrul Gazi Mosque, newly built Independence Park and bazaar. Day 3: Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to Nokhur, Turkmenistan
In the morning, drive to Nohur village in the Kopet Dag Mountains (visit tribal cemetery and pilgrim site; silk weaving homes), with visit of Turkmenbashi Mosque-Mausoleum on the way. Drive back to Ashgabat. Afternoon, excursionincludes a stopover at the Akhalteke horse stables. You will Earthquake monument, Soviet War memorial complex, Turkmenbashi mosque-mausoleum and Tolkuchka-Bazar. Free time in the evening. Meals: Breakfast
