Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Дашогуз, Туркменистан

Entry at the Shavat border. Tour the architectural wonders of Koneurgench. Dashoguz city tour. Overnight in Dashoguz hotel.

Day 2: Дашогуз, Туркменистан to Дарваза, Туркменистан

Visit Asyk Aydyn pir historical monument. Visit a house of local popular painter. After the lunch straight drive to the Darvaza Gas Crater. Crater. Evening bonfire and dinner by the glowing crater. Overnight in tents/yurts.

Day 3: Дарваза, Туркменистан to Ашхабад, Туркменистан

Drive from Darvaza to Ashgabat (~3.5 hours). Spend the afternoon exploring Ashgabat’s modern palaces, fountains, and the grand Kipchak Mosque. Overnight in Ashgabat.

Day 4: Ашхабад, Туркменистан to Фараб, Туркменистан

Take an early drive to Mary (only 3 hours). This saves a massive morning drive. Spend the entire day doing an in-depth tour of Ancient Merv. Drive to the Farap border for exit.
