Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Душанбе, Таджикистан
Dushanbe – city tour and expedition briefing Overnight: Hotel (Dushanbe) Altitude: 800m
Day 2: Душанбе, Таджикистан to Калаихум, Таджикистан
Dushanbe → Kalai‑Khumb (drive via Sangvor) Overnight: Guesthouse Altitude: 1,300m
Day 3: Калаихум, Таджикистан to Хорог, Таджикистан
Kalai‑Khumb → Rushan → Khorog Overnight: Guesthouse Altitude: 2,200m
Day 4: Хорог, Таджикистан to Yamchun Fort, Ишкошим, Таджикистан
Khorog → Ishkashim → Yamchun (Wakhan Valley) Overnight: Homestay Altitude: 2,800m
Day 5: Bibi Fatima Hot Springs, Вранг, Таджикистан to Бартанг, Таджикистан
Bibi Fatima hot springs + Yamchun Fortress; then off‑road to the Bartang Valley Overnight: Camp (Bartang) Altitude: 2,500m Located near Yamchun in the Wakhan Valley. Natural sulphurous springs at 2,800m – perfect after days of rough driving.
Day 6: Бартанг, Таджикистан to Сарезское озеро, Таджикистан
Bartang village → to Sarez Lake Overnight: Camp (Sarez) Altitude: 3,260m One of the most remote and least‑visited valleys in the Pamirs – narrow gorges, isolated villages, real expedition feeling. A 2‑hour excursion on the “sleeping dragon” of the Pamirs – turquoise water, dramatic cliffs, absolute silence.
Day 7: Сарезское озеро, Таджикистан to Мургаб, Таджикистан
Sarez Lake → to Murghab Overnight: Guesthouse (Murghab) Altitude: 3,650m Formed by a massive earthquake in 1911. The lake is 60 km long and up to 500 m deep. The helicopter lands at the Usoi Dam (the natural blockage). Spend one night on the shores of Sarez Lake. High‑quality 4‑season tents, warm sleeping bags, and a camp cook provide comfort in the wilderness.
