Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Panjakent, Tajikistan

Day 1: Dushanbe – Panjakent Early morning, you will drive to Panjakent via the Istiqlol tunnel. The city of Panjakent is located in the north of Tajikistan in the Zarafshon River valley. You will see the Fann Mountains, the highest part of the Zarafshon range and one of the most popular tourism and mountain-climbing areas in Tajikistan. You will also see Sarazm, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, 5500 years old, a UNESCO sight, and the Museum of Rudaki (the founder of Persian literature). Panjakent at that time was one of the cultural and crafts centers of Soghd, it was even named "Central Asian Pompeii" оf which only remains dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers’ church. Today you will have an opportunity to try the traditional pilaf (rice dish) of Panjakent. Accommodation • Hotel (1 night) Meals Included • Lunch • Dinner

Day 2: Panjakent, Tajikistan to Seven Lakes, Tajikistan

Day 2: Panjakent – Seven Lakes From Panjakent you will travel to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes) a beautiful wilderness, with perfectly calm lakes. They are one of Central Asia's most popular hiking areas. Seven lakes are located in the Fann Mountains, in the gorge of the Shing River. The lowest is located at an altitude of 1640 meters above sea level, and the last at around 2400 meters. The color of the lakes is pretty and different. Day 3: Seven Lakes, Tajikistan to Iskanderkul, Tajikistan

Day 3: Seven Lakes – Iskandarkul Depart Seven Lakes and travel to Iskandarkul (approximately 6 hour's drive) through spectacular mountain scenery. It's one of the most beautiful lakes in Tajikistan at an altitude of 2195 m. Lake Iskandarkul was named after Alexander the Great, who allegedly visited here on his way from Central Asia to India. After arrival at the lake, you will go for a walk along its shores, this is a fantastic place to rest. You will then hike to see a waterfall, called the “Fann Niagara” that falls from 38 meters high. Day 4: Iskanderkul, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Day 4: Iskandarkul – Dushanbe Time to return to Dushanbe via the Anzob pass (3372 m). A spectacular mountain scenery, where you will have more time to take pictures. Your journey through the Fann Mountains comes to an end. Meals Included • Breakfast • Lunch
