Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Dushanbe, Tajikistan
You have an opportunity to start your journey from Dushanbe to Pamirs as known Roof of the World. That journey will take you to one of the authentic and historical sights where you have exploration history, culture, traditions and commercial. The famous part of the Pamirs are Silk Road, Pamir Highway, Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan, Pamirs plateau and Bartang valley. Do not be late, let’s start your trip confirmation from now. Day 2: Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan
Today you start your journey to land of history and Culture. Pamir or GBAO as famous with a Top destination in the world. You can call it Pamir plateau or Roof of the World. Sightsee, stop by the way for photos and small grocery shops. In the afternoon you will reach to your first night location.
Day 3: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Khorog, Tajikistan
Today you will departure to administrative part of GBAO, Khorog. Following Panj river. Panj means five. The shallow river from each small gorge join to deep canyon. Opposite of you is Afghanistan with a small gardens and villages. Khorog located at an altitude of 2,200m above sea levels. Khorog is capital city of GBAO and location of the city is in the deep canyon. Khorog confluence 3 rivers, Panj, Ghund, Shokhdara. Tonight you will spend in Khorog.
Day 4: Khorog, Tajikistan to Eshkashem, Tajikistan
Today you will start your journey to Wakhan valley, along Panj river and opposite of Afghanistan again. On the way you will stop: Kah-Kaha fortress, Yamchun Fortress, located on uphill and five kilometres Bibifotimai Fatima Hot springs. After sightseeing, you are continuing towards Wakhan. On the way you will stop to visit Museum and few kilometres later stop for Buddhist Stupa. In the afternoon you spend your dinner and night in the guesthouse.
Day 5: Langar, Tajikistan to Bulunkul, Tajikistan
In the morning you will departure earlier and spend your journey by the breathtaking nature. After few kilometres flat road the Khargush gorge is beginning. The highest point of the day is 4300m above sea levels. Today you have a choice to spend your half day at one of the famous village. That village we call Bulunkul. The geography location of the village is Eastern Part of the Pamirs. Bulunkul located at an altitude of 3700m above sea levels, and that village one of the coldest in Tajikistan. Tonight you will spend with native people and family.
Day 6: Bulunkul, Tajikistan to Murghab, Tajikistan
Today we have an opportunity to observe wildlife conservation on the way and explore Roof of the World. First of all you will visit Bulunkul lake stop for short photos then departure to Murgab region. Murgab had been formed before Soviet Union and during Great Game. The meaning of Murgab is ‘’River of Birds’’. In the afternoon you will visit local Market and Shops. Overnight In the hotel or guesthouse.
Day 7: Murghab, Tajikistan to Khorog, Tajikistan
Next day trip from Eastern Part of the Pamirs to West. Today morning you can drive back to Khorog town through Pamir Highway. Pamir Highway has knewn as Soviet Road. Overnight in same hotel.
Day 8: Khorog, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan
Today you departure from Khorog to Kalai Khumb through the same way. Pamir mountains are the higher mountains in Central Asia after Himalaya, only one road was possible to be built M41 Highway or Soviet Road. Panj river allocates two parts of the Mountains and countries. Overnight in the hotel or guesthouse.
Day 9: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Today you have alternative choices. Start your trip over the Khoburabad pass or through Khatlan region. Road condition through Khoburabad is really tough, but has a beautiful scenery. The highest point of the day is 3250m above sea level. Other side of the mountain is overlooking the nature and landscape. End of the journey with a long driveway but look like very enjoyable. Overnight in the same hotel.
Day 10: Dushanbe, Tajikistan
Free day. Leisure and preparing things for flight.
