Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Airport, Baku, Azerbaijan to Baku, Azerbaijan

Baku Nights Tour - Enjoy a night tour of Baku with a private driver and your  personal guide. It is a lovely drive through the most important places of the city. Visit the main attractions, and there will be stops to snap photos or take a stroll around your favorite spots. Visit Highland Park for panoramic views of Baku Bay from the highest point of the city. Stop in front of the Carpet Museum. There you have the best view to Flame Towers, the Carpet Museum itself and Daniz Shopping mall. Short stroll through boulevard. Visit Mini Venice. Pass by Government House. Drive to see Haydar Aliyev Center at night. The photo stop in front of the “I Love Baku”. A short walk in the surroundings. Drive via Haydar Aliyev Avenue, see Baku Olympic Stadium, biggest stadium in Azerbaijan. Duration: 3-4 hours

Day 2: Shamakhi, Azerbaijan to Lahij, Azerbaijan

After breakfast, depart from Baku and drive towards Shamakhi. En route, make a stop at the Diri Baba Mausoleum in Maraza village. Continue on to Shamakhi to explore the historic Juma Mosque, which was restored in 2013. If the weather is favorable, enjoy a scenic drive through the Girdimanchay River Canyon to the ancient village of Lahich, dating back to the 5th century. Lahich is known for its rich history and cultural significance, with its picturesque cobbled streets. The village is renowned for its medieval water supply and sewage systems, as well as its traditional workshops where skilled artisans craft jewelry, copperware, carpets, pottery, daggers, and iron tools.  Proceed to Gabala, a charming medieval town nestled in a lush mountainous region, famous for its Mountain Resort. You will arrive in Gabala around 14:00, where you will have at least 3 hours for using cable cars and enjoying the resort’s facilities. Drive back to Baku, stay in the hotel. Duration: 10 - 12 hours Distance: Baku - Gabala - 220 km

Day 3: Quba, Azerbaijan to Khinaliq, Azerbaijan

After breakfast, depart from Baku and drive towards Guba. En route, make a stop in Khizi at Candy mountains with colorful clay formations creating surreal photogenic landscapes. Drive to Guba, surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills, is a hub of cultural heritage. Key sights include the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex and the Quba Carpet Factory, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich history and tradition. Then change vehicles for 4x4 cars and  depart for Khinaliq, one of the highest villages in Azerbaijan, offering rugged beauty and a unique cultural experience in the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Drive back to Baku, stay in the hotel. Duration: 10-12 hours Distance: Baku - Guba - 180 km

Day 4: Gobustan, Azerbaijan to Ateshgah of Baku, Baku, Azerbaijan

Drive to Gobustan to visit the Petroglyphs Museum and discover ancient petroglyphs dating back to 20,000 BC. The Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Weather permitting, switch to a Lada cars for an exciting trip to the mud volcanoes, as Gobustan is home to nearly half of the world’s mud volcanoes. Afterward, return to the city center for lunch. Next visit Absheron Peninsula to visit Ateshgah, a historic fire temple located in the village of Surakhany. Zoroastrians from India once traveled thousands of kilometers to worship the natural fire that emanated from the earth here. Then, visit the nearby Burning Mountain, where natural gas seeps from the ground, causing the mountain to continuously burn. Drive back to Baku, stay in the hotel. Duration: 8-9 Hours Distance: Baku - Gobustan - 65 km Distance: Baku - Yanardag 40 km

Day 5: Baku, Azerbaijan to Old City Baku, Baku, Azerbaijan

Breakfast: At 09:30, begin a guided tour of Baku’s highlights. Stroll along Martyrs’ Lane, or ‘Shehidler Khiyabany’ as the locals call it, and enjoy stunning views of Baku’s coastline. Continue to Icheri Sheher, the city’s historic center, and visit notable landmarks such as the Shirvanshah Palace, Maiden Tower, Unesco world heritage sites, and the bustling main market square filled with art galleries and souvenir shops. Conclude the tour with a walk along Nizami Street and Fountain Square. Take a leisurely stroll along Baku Boulevard, a scenic promenade that stretches along the Caspian Sea, offering beautiful views, gardens, and cultural spots. Visit the renowned Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre, an architectural masterpiece designed by the Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid. The building's unique and futuristic design is a must-see. Transfer to airport. Duration: 7-8 hours
