As the guide books of Iran recommend, Alamut Valley is the trekking spot in Iran and among the top attractions of this country that you can't miss.
Trekking and hiking tours in Alamut Valley can be of 3 main possibilities: 1. Trekking in Alamut Valley 2. Trekking from Almaut Valley, crossing Alborz mountains to the Caspian sea 3. Trekking from the Caspian sea, crossing Alborz mountains to Alamut Valley.
Below I have prepared a sample cross-Caspian trek. The plan and itineraries for Alamut Valley are not always fixed. By the time you are in the valley, some villages or some trails may be inaccessible due to snow, heavy rain or etc.
The trekking plans are usually tailor-made according to your time, season, fitness and budget.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Qazvin, Iran to Garmaroud village
The first day of your Alamut tour will be a sightseeing day. I will accompany you to explore the nature of Alamut and also the legend and the history of the Assassins. We will visit the lake, the canyons, and Alamut castle. In the evening we stop at a local house or a hostel in Alamut valley for dinner and sleep.
Day 2: Garmaroud village to Dineh roud
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Dineh Roud village to start the trekking. An English-speaking guide will accompany you during the trip. The trekking will be started in Garmaroud and end up in Dineh Roud. Sleeping in a local house in Dineh Roud.
Day 3: dineh roud to avatar
On day 3, you will trek from Dineh Roud to Avatar village. Trekking distance approx. 10 kilometers per day. Sleeping in a village house in Avatar.
Day 4: avatar to picheh bon
On day 4, you will arrive at Picheh Bon village and I will pick you up from Picheh Bon going directly to Qazvin to your hotel. Or the itinerary for the 3rd day can go to Picheh Bon, (instead of Avatar) and the 4th day can be from Picheh Bon to Maran and transfer by car from Maran to Caspian sea.

Out trekking tours are all-inclusive from the start point in the morning to the ending point in the evening. The plans include: Transfers, accommodations, food meals, guides, and entrance fees.
