Day 5: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Kharkhorin, Mongolia
.Drive to Kharkhorin – Erdene Zuu Monastery & Ancient Capital.Drive to 350km.Pave road. After breakfast, drive toward Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, once the heart of Chinggis Khan’s world in the 13th century. This area lies in the beautiful Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by wide grasslands and sacred mountains. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, built in 1586 using stones from the ruins of the ancient city of Karakorum. The monastery is surrounded by a symbolic wall with 108 white stupas, representing spiritual completeness in Buddhism. Explore the monastery temples and museum, where you will see Buddhist statues, thangka paintings, ancient scriptures, ritual objects, and historical artifacts that tell the story of Buddhism in Mongolia—its rise, destruction during the socialist period, and revival today. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed hike along the riverbank and through the green valley, breathing fresh air and taking in stunning views. Day 7: Orkhon Valley Natural and Historical Reserve, Mongolia to Khorgo Mountain, Mongolia
| Khorgo Volcanic Mountain After breakfast, we begin a scenic drive of about 380 km through wide open steppe, lava fields, and dramatic highland landscapes. By afternoon, we arrive at Khorgo Volcanic Mountain, an extinct volcano surrounded by black basalt rocks and unique volcanic formations. You can walk around the crater, enjoy the fresh air, and take stunning photos of this raw, untouched nature. In the evening, we check in to a cozy ger camp, enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner, and relax under a sky full of stars.
Day 8: Khorgo, Mongolia to Khyargas Lake, Mongolia

Day 9: Khyargas, Mongolia to Khyargas Lake, Mongolia
Khyargas Lake & Telmen Lake Today we continue our journey with a 300 km pave road.drive toward Khyargas Lake, the second biggest lake in Mongolia, famous for its vast size and salty water. On the way, we stop at the beautiful Telmen Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by gentle hills and open steppe — a perfect place for photos and a short walk. By evening, we arrive at Khyargas Lake. Check in to a comfortable ger camp and enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the lake, where the sky reflects endless colors on the water. A peaceful night by the lake completes this special day.
Day 10: Khyargas Lake, Mongolia to Mongol Els, Mongolia
Today our direction to The Largest Sand dunes Els Durgun Lake Desert ,Sand Dunes.Drive to 250km.Dust road.Long Driving day. Begin an overland journey toward the Mongol Els (Chandmani) Sand Dunes, one of the largest and most beautiful sand dune systems in Mongolia. As you approach, golden dunes rise dramatically from the steppe, creating a stunning contrast with the surrounding mountains and wide open plains. Day 11: Urdgol, Mongolia to Durgun Lake, Mongolia
Hiking on the Singing Sand Dunes – Mongol Els Today is a full hiking and exploration day in the remote Mongol Els sand dunes. As you walk across the golden dunes, you may hear the unique “singing” sound of the sand, created by the wind and your footsteps—a rare and magical natural phenomenon. Hike along the rolling dunes and enjoy breathtaking views of Durgun Lake, a deep blue lake beautifully surrounded by endless sand dunes. Mongol Els is completely untouched and non-touristic—no one lives here—offering a true off-the-beaten-path experience and a deep sense of silence and freedom. Along the way, you may see horses and camels, and even a camel caravan moving gracefully across the sand. The drive is approximately 300 km, offering endless open views and dramatic scenery. We continue to Bayan-Ölgii Province, the heart of western Mongolia and a true crossroads of cultures. This region feels like Central Asia, where different traditions live side by side. Snow-capped peaks stretch into the distance, creating a truly unforgettable panorama. You will see the beautiful Yak Milk River, named after its milky-white color flowing from glacial waters. In the evening, stay overnight in a traditional ger, surrounded by pure nature and the silence of the high Altai.
Day 15: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, Mongolia to Altai Mountains, Mongolia

Hiking to Potanin Glacier & Optional Malchin Peak Today is a short, gentle hiking day to the Potanin Glacier, one of the most stunning natural wonders of the Altai. For more adventure, you can hike to Malchin Peak (4050 m), located on the Mongolia–Russia border.
