The high-altitude plateau of Assy - Turgen is located at an altitude of 2600 m above sea level, in the valley of the Assy River, 100 km east of Almaty.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Assy Observatory, Kazakhstan

Day 1 Departure from Almaty in the Turgen gorge Arrival in the Turgen gorge Excursion along the gorge, with stop for coffe break Further excursion to the waterfall Kairaksky located at an altitude of 2130 m above sea level. Kairak waterfall is named so not by chance, when you come closer to the waterfall, you will see that the waterfall literally protruded its way to the gorge Kayra - in Kazakh - the grindstone. This is the highest waterfall in the Turgen gorge 74 m. The journey time for walking is 2,5-3 hours one way - 7km. After treking to the waterfall, we will set up a camp in a picturesque meadow near the river at the foot of the Assy plateau. At the evening we make dinner in the wild After dinner we will admire the starry sky Then overnight in tents

Day 2: Assy Observatory, Kazakhstan to Almaty, Kazakhstan

Day 2 Breakfast then by car we will go up to the Observatory Assy, take beautiful photographs and enjoy the views of the valley. 1,5-2 hours after we return to the camp, have a drink of coffee and start explore beautiful Tien Shan spruce forests - time for a walk. Packing up the camp and we back to the city. On the way we will stop for lunch at the city Issyk.
