Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Farab, Turkmenistan to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan

Day 1: An Adventure through Turkmenistan In the early morning, we will meet you at the Farap border. After a quick and smooth process with our guide, we head towards the city of Mary, home to the ancient Merv, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The drive takes about 5 hours (300 km), but time will fly as you soak in the beautiful landscapes and natural beauty along the way. Upon arrival in Mary, you’ll explore the historical ruins of Merv, once a vital hub of the Silk Road. After the tour, we’ll enjoy a traditional Turkmen lunch. Next, we journey to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The drive will take approximately 3 hours, offering more stunning views. Ashgabat’s white marble architecture, which holds a place in the Guinness Book of Records, awaits your arrival. You’ll check into the “Mizan” or “Ak Altyn” hotel, enjoy a delicious dinner, and then visit the observation deck for a panoramic view of the city. The adventure begins right from the first day, offering a deep dive into Turkmenistan’s rich culture and history!

Day 2: Ashgabat Stadium, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to Darvaza Gas Crater - "Door to Hell", Derweze, Turkmenistan

Day 2: History, Culture, and the Gates of Hell Your morning will begin with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before we head to the ancient city of Old Nisa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, you’ll explore the impressive ruins of the Parthian Empire, a glimpse into the ancient world. Next, we will embark on a guided city tour of Ashgabat, where you’ll discover the capital’s iconic white marble architecture and visit the vibrant Gulistan Bazaar, immersing yourself in local culture. The city tour will last approximately 5 hours. In the afternoon, we will set off on an unforgettable journey through the Karakum Desert towards the famous Darvaza Gas Crater, known as the “Gates of Hell.” As night falls, the fiery glow of the crater will create a mesmerizing spectacle. You will enjoy a traditional Turkmen dinner by the fire, followed by an overnight stay in a cozy yurt under the starry desert sky — a truly magical experience blending nature, culture, and adventure.

Day 3: Darvaza Gas Crater - "Door to Hell", Derweze, Turkmenistan to Şabat etrap Surathanasy, Ниязовск, Turkmenistan

Day 3: The Final Chapter of Your Journey The morning begins with a cozy outdoor breakfast — delicious eggs cooked over an open fire, paired with hot coffee or tea, creating a perfect start to the day. After breakfast, we will head to the ancient city of Kunya-Urgench, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once the capital of the Khorezm Empire, this historical treasure impresses with its architectural marvels. You will explore landmarks like the grand mausoleum of Turabek Khanum, famous for its intricate mosaic dome, and the towering Kutlug Timur Minaret, one of the tallest in Central Asia, along with other ancient relics echoing the glory of the Silk Road era. Following the tour, we will travel to the border, where we will bid you farewell with warm wishes, hoping to meet again on another unforgettable adventure. This journey will leave you with not just memories of breathtaking sights but also a deep connection to the rich heritage of Turkmenistan.
