Total lockdown in 2020 gave us the opportunity to see our guide job from another view. Since all my tours were cancelled
I took my lovely wife and dog to my favorite spots. We checked villagers where
I usually stop with guests for accommodation. Together with guesthouse owners
we were remembering tourists from 2019, shared our meal and vision for 2021. No one
knows exactly what is going to happen for travelling in next year, but locals are
optimistic in their forecasts. And I totally understand them. This year was
really hard for all of us. But on the other hand, it was really cool for nature
and wild animals. And this is evidenced by multiple videos from national parks
where wild animals walk freely and enjoy the absence of humans. It’s freedom of
a quieter world.
Of course, I really miss the tours.
I miss telling the stories about Kazakhstan, its history, mountain trekking, and
wild animals watching. I miss the stories about the traditions and history of
nomads, the history of my people and my family. I believe that the coronavirus
will end soon and we will go on an unforgettable journey across Kazakhstan and whole
Central Asia.
This year I have devoted myself
to exploring new routes. I have traveled hundreds of kilometers to get new
impressions. So that in the future tourists will discover Kazakhstan from the
other side.
And as I always say to my foreign
guests – take only memories, leave only footprints
