We recently visited Uzbekistan: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, flying out of Urgench. While Tashkent to Samarkand and Samarkand to Bukhara are connected by excellent fast trains Bukhara to Khiva has non-AC slow trains (mostly overnight). While exploring the option of arranging a transfer between Bukhara and Khiva, Indyguide came on the radar. IndyGuide were superb in putting us in touch with multiple drivers within hours of posting and we contacted Ali. Since we were a party of 4 with 4 bags, we took the option of a 4X4 ( Chevrolet Captiva). All of Ali's dealings were polite, prompt and professional, at an exceptionally competitive price. We were provided with a very well-maintained and clean vehicle, driven exceptionally by a driver called Tavakkal. It was a door-to-door transfer done with precision! The 460 KM journey was completed in approximately 5.5 hours with a 30-minute comfort break! Would highly recommend Ali and his team ( Tavakkal in particular!) for arranging transfers in Uzbekistan.
