Anand is an independent driver based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. He works on his own, without a team, taking travelers across the country in his own 2017 Hyundai Grand Starex 4x4.
His routes cover the classic stops across Mongolia, from the sand dunes of the Gobi Desert to the Orkhon Valley and the wilderness of the north. He also takes on more specialized logistics, such as driving support for sporting events, with attention to fitting extra gear and equipment alongside passengers.
A trip with Anand means traveling in his left-hand drive Grand Starex, which seats up to seven passengers comfortably with room for luggage and equipment. For larger groups, he arranges a second van alongside his own so everyone travels comfortably. He speaks English and Russian, works out daily stops directly with travelers, and helps translate during visits to nomadic families. He offers flexible scheduling, including early morning and late evening runs, and adjusts the plan to each group's needs.

Anand was a five star tour guide. He was very organized and knowledgeable, and communicated the plan to us clearly each day, which I appreciated. I always felt like I knew what was going on and how much time we had in each place to explore. He was really friendly and made our trip to the Gobi really smooth and enjoyable.
Anand was fantastic! He is super nice, helpful and so informative! He volunteers information freely and seems genuinely interested in the places and topics he's telling you about. We did a four day customized tour with him to the Gobi Desert where he was both our driver and guide. He allowed us to customize the tour to be exactly what we wanted. He even allowed us to make changes during the tour itself, and happily helped us make those changes. No matter what we were looking for - a vegetarian restaurant, a store that sold authentic cashmere, a ride to the airport at the end of the trip that wasn't officially in the itinerary, etc, Anand flexed and was able to accomodate with kindness and helpfulness. He also asked what our interests are and then would suggest activities, tours or dances he thought we would like, and then helped us book the tickets. He really went above and beyond. He's reliable, trustworthy and very very kind. His English is also perfect, which made working with him even smoother. I highly recommend Anand, he was definitely the best tour guide we had in Mongolia.
