About Anne-Camille
I am wildlife biologist, conservationist, environmental educator and wildlife observation tour leader based in Mongolia. I have been studying ecology and behavior of Mongolian wild equids since 2003 (Przewalski's horse and Mongolian khulan) in the Gobi Desert, with a main focus since 2004 on the Mongolian wild ass/khulan. I have now 20 years experience in the wildlife observation field and in travelling in the Gobi Desert as well! As part of my NGO's conservation program, I lead wildlife observation and citizen science expeditions in the Gobi Desert. During these expeditions it will be possible for the travelers to observe a variery of wildlife (from which some are today endangered), visit different regions and protected areas on the way to and in the Gobi Desert, take part to some research and conservation activities and meet local herders, park rangers and people who are involved in the conservation program. The expeditions are part of a community-based and conservation tourism project which is part of my NGO's conservation program to another NGO's conservation program (as specified in the description of the tours from my listing). Joining one of the tour I lead is a guarantee for you to get an experience of a lifetime which will directly contriute to protection of Mongolian wildflife and their habitat! I can also organize tailor-made trips if you want to observe and photography specific Mongolian wild species in their habitat. Feel free to contact me if you have a specific request!

Wildlife Observation And Citizen Science In The Gobi
Starts in Ulaanbaatar, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Mongolia is a country with a very diverse but also fragile environment which has been tradionnally protected through environmental local practices and beliefs. Today, Mongolia's nature is challenged by climate change, mining activities and development of linear infrastructures, and increasing livestock size and overgrazing. I am wildlife biologist and conservationist and I will lead these wildlife observation expeditions in the Gobi Desert, in the study area of my conservation NGO. During these expeditions, you will gain a clear understanding about the eastern Gobi ecosystem and its wildlife and the challenges to protect this unique ecosystem and its wild species. You will have the privilege to visit an area which is so little visited in Mongolia. Our NGO practices people-centred conservation and during this journey you will have a chance to : learn more about Gobi wildlife, meet local people such as protected areas' rangers, Buddhist monks, small market gardeners, and nomadic herders who are partners in conservation with our NGO. You will have the opportunity to discuss with them about their involvement in our conservation program and their actions and motivations towards the protection of the Gobi ecosystem.
