In my home we have two eagles and also Kyrgyz dogs. If you like,my dad a traditional eagle hunter could take you out for real eagle hunt or show with dogs.If you can ride,we can also go there by horses. In our garden we have Yurt capm we and eat together and you can sleep in it as well.We also have a nice house to stay in it.My mom will prepare all the meals for the day. Our village is close to the Issyk kul lake,the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan. Hunting with the golden eagle is an ancient tradition that dates back to the Mongol conquest of Central Asia around the 12th and 13th centuries, when a fine eagle and good horse cost the same price and both lent prestige to their owner. Although the practice is gradually disappearing in this area, hunting with birds (especially with eagles) is still practiced in certain regions of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Westerners tend to think of this as falconry – and although hunting with hawks and falcons does take place, it is looked down upon by those who hunt with eagles as a pastime for children and dilettantes. Hunting takes place riding a specially trained horse, (called a "bercut”). To allow a rider to carry an eagle a special device (a “baldak”) is fitted onto the saddle to support the rider’s arm. Sent out to hunt fawns, foxes, or other small animals, the eagle dives down on them and kills them. But often it is also capable of killing young wolves when they cannot negotiate the deep snow. Sometimes the eagles hunt in pairs, just as they would in the wild.

We went for a half day eagle hunting trip with horses with Aruuke and his family, and stayed at their home for one night. We felt very welcome from the beginning and really enjoyed the whole time with them. Aruuke speaks good english and her mother speaks some as swell. All the foods we got there were tasty. Only minus was the slow and a little confusing answers in Indy-guide before booking. We would totally recommend visiting them and seeing the old tradition of eagle hunting.

Aruuke and her family welcomed us to their place. It was amazing to meet all the family members and share with them dinner, breakfast and lunch. They kindly shared with us stories about eagle hunting, about families, countries, etc it was amazing !! We went eagle hunting, and we had a fantastic experience. we booked everything through Indy Guide, without a Guide !
