Islam helped us organize a driver for our trip on very short notice, including an early 6am pickup from the train station, which we really appreciated. The driver was reliable, honest, friendly and spoke good English. He also surprised us with a small gift, which was a very thoughtful gesture. One thing to note: we had specifically requested a 4x4 vehicle for some planned off-road excursions, but the car provided was not suitable for unpaved roads, so we unfortunately had to skip one part of our itinerary. Apart from that, everything was smooth and well organized.

Islam was my day tour guide for Shymkent and Turkestan. He picked me up from Shymkent airport and we drove to Turkestan. Everything went smoothly. Islam is a good tour guide. The tour was good. We had a good communication before and during the tour. Aksu Canyon was a excellent day, great experience. Everyday on time. The second guide for 2 last days was very kind , she was a bit stressed but I think she is good for that. Turkestan is a nice city to stay at least 1 night. The car was Ok, just a bit larger should be extra for our group. Me and my guests were happy of these 4 days and about all our trip in Kazakhstan in general. Islam also took care about us when we finished our tour with him, asking if all is good for us in the next steps of our adventure.

We had a wonderful tour with Islam to Otran, Turkestan, Sauran and Ikan. Islam is an engaged guide who is very good at conveying his extensive knowledge. We appreciated his openness in responding to our many questions. A special bonus was the visit to the mausoleum in Ikan where we enjoyed local traditional bread and tea in the company of a local journalist who also showed us the village museum.

Everything was really good, professional and friendly guide. We visited Turkestan, Otrar and the mausoleum of Arystanbab. He gave us really good explanation of historical facts, discoveries, and also some interesting trivia. Islam even helped us with trying to get some local food. Defenitely recommended.

First, I would like to tell that visiting Turkistan region of Kazakhstan and its historical gems, it is the continuation and completion of a trip in Timurid Uzbekistan. As for citizens of most Countries no visa is anymore needed on both sides of the border, the combination is more easy than ever. Moreover Shymkent itself is a surprisingly pleasant city to explore, with amazing National Parks even for day trips. Islam has always lived in that land and knows it more than enough. He is not simply a good driver with a confortable veihicle but foremost a guide who loves his job and who knows how to do that job well, sometimes overcoming himself in order to satisfy the needs of his guests. Islam is trustworthy, honest, serious but with a sense of humor, always on time, well-mannered with a good character that he makes you feel from the first moment as with an old friend. Without any doubt I recommend him for an unforgettable tour in the civilization and nature of his holy places.

Islam is the most knowledgeable, kind, attentive guide possible. He is truly passionate about his homeland and welcomed us like we were part of his family. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to know the richness of Kazakhstan culture and history while visiting it’s breathtaking wild nature. Islam took me on a morning trip from my hotel in Shymkent to Khoja Ahmed Yassawi Mausoleum in Turkestan, as I was short on time. He answered all of my many questions professionally and patiently before our trip. Also learnt many things about Turkestan and South Kazakhstan despite the limited time we had together. I definitely recommend Islam for tours in South Kazakhstan.

We did two tours lasting one day with Islam. The first day we have visited Turkestan. Islam picked us up at 9 am as we arrived from Almaty by night train. At Turkestan Islam told us a lot about the whole area and we visited several places there. A very interesting day and late in the afternoon we were dropped at our hotel. The next morning we were picked up at the hotel for a tour to Aksu Canyon. When we arrived at the canyon we first did a nice hike downstairs to the river. The colour of the river is beautiful. After the hike we drove further into the area and made another hike near the canyon, but this one was upstairs the canyon. In the afternoon we had a great homemade lunch with a spectacular view into the canyon. At the and of the day we were dropped at our hotel again. We stronlgy recommend Islam as a guide for daytrips, he is reliable and knows a lot about the history and the area itself.

Last week Islam was our Guide and Driver for a daytour from Shymkent to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. Early in the morning Islam picked us up at our Hotel and drove us in a comfortable car to Turkestan. Islam speaks very good English. He has a good knowledge of the sights and explains a lot about the history. Islam had no problem to stop spontaneously at a monument in Shymkent on our way back. He always had an answer of any question about Kazakhstan, History and Culture. We enjoyed the tour very much and recommend Islam highly. He was reliable, flexible and well informed. Letzte Woche haben wir eine Tagestour von Shymkent zum Mausoleum von Hodscha Ahmad Yasawi mit Islam unternommen. Er war unser Fahrer und Guide. Wir wurden morgens pünktlich von unserem Hotel abgeholt und in einem bequemen Auto in etwa 2 Stunden nach Turkestan gefahren. Vor Ort führte Islam uns durch die Sehenswürdigkeiten rund um das Mausoleum während er uns jede Menge Informationen über die Gebäude, die Geschichte und Kultur sowie zu Kasachstan gab. Auf dem Rückweg kam er spontan unserem Wunsch nach, an einer Sehenswürdigkeit in Shymkent einen Stopp einzulegen. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und informativen Tag und empfehlen Islam gerne weiter. Er ist freundlich, zuverlässig und flexibel und verfügt zudem über sehr gute Englischkenntnisse.

Unfortunately Islam overbooked himself and my tour was far from satisfactory. He took on too much and I was left, as a solo traveller, with a Russian speaking driver (I only speak English) and no guides. At Turkistan the driver thankfully found a lady who spoke English and gave a good tour of the Mausoleum. I think I missed out on so much.

Everything went smoothly and we had a great and memorable day with Islam. He picked us up on time from our hotel in a very spacious and comfortable vehicle and drove us to Turkestan, where he showed us around all the sights and monuments explaining the history - in very good English!! The whole day was pleasant and enjoyable and all so easy. Thanks, Islam!
