Miras.

What we experienced with Miras was something much more personal than just an organised trip. It was one of the best trips of our lives, and definitely the wildest, most remote and adventurous one we have ever done. We travelled through Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, having experiences that we will hardly ever forget. There were moments when it was simply us, the car, the mountains and… nobody else around. Camping at 3,500 metres, completely surrounded by nature and far away from everything and everyone, was truly magical. The places we saw were incredible, one after another. But Miras was definitely the most important part of the experience. He is a great traveller, with an incredible knowledge of the world, but above all, he knows this part of the world deeply. Being Kazakh and having such a knowledge of Kyrgyzstan as well, he allowed us to experience both countries in a much more authentic and wild way than we probably could have on our own. He was almost always impeccable, both as a guide and as a travel companion. And after spending almost three weeks together, in the end it felt much more like we had met someone with whom we shared a great adventure, rather than simply being accompanied by a guide. We really hope to stay in touch with him. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll find ourselves somewhere else in the world, taking another trip together. We had a fantastic tour with Miras. In total we were on the road for six days. Miras is a very experienced driver, so we were able to successfully navigate the off-road sections over the Ketmen Pass. We learned a lot about the country and Miras showed us many beautiful spots. I also had the opportunity to try many national dishes. Our tour started in Almaty and took us over the Ketmen Pass to Tuzkol Lake, where we camped. Afterward we headed to Saty (visiting Kolsai Lake and Kaindy Lake) and then traveled via Charyn Canyon to the hot pools in Chundzha. We chose this route because the weather was better during the first two days; we were even lucky to see Khan Tengri. From Chundzha we traveled via Zharkent to Basshi and Altyn-Emel National Park. On the final day we visited the petroglyphs along the Ili River and at Tanbaly.

I can’t imagine anyone better than Miras for a tour. I traveled with my daughter (11y) 10 days with him. He planned all the tour, where to go, where to stay or eat. He take care of us and everything. He did a super tour for us following the hints we gave about the adventure tour we qould like to do. He has a lot of knowledge about their country, kirguistan and many many other countries in the world. We had pleasant chats during our tryp toguether. We started as 4 friends that wanted to travel around Central Asia, ended up being 5 friends travelling around Central Asia. Miras is more than just a guide, he is a wonderful person, always in a good mood, very friendly and funny, and has a lot of incredible stories to tell, he really lived a crazy life!!
