We spent 1 day with Yerzhan visiting the Unesco World Heritage Site of the Mausoleum of Kohya Ahmed Yasawi in Turkestan. Yerzhan picked us up at the Border from Uzbekistan to Kazakstan and drove us to Turkestan. We were caught by his incredible knowledge of about every topic possible and were impressed by the achievments of Yerzhan: “Only 39 years old" he has already four University degrees and three children. He has been abroad to Europe and the United States, for this reason his English is perfect. Never getting tired he is working as a tourguide and is teaching as a Professor at the University for pharmacy at the same time. We had an incredible time with him and learned a lot about historical context of the region, religion and today’s global political events. Having such a great knowledge he was able to impress us and we always felt comfortable in his company as he was very sensitive and took good care of us. He is a very good driver and a wonderful guide and we had the feeling to leave a friend behind when we left. We can fully recommend Yerzhan as a most reliable and very pleasant tour-guide.

It was one of the great experiences to have Yerzhan accompany me during the visit to Turkestan. I have been there without any expectations but just it is convenient to go from Almaty compared to others. It became, however, an interesting place to comprehend the core of the development of Turkic nations in terms of culture, history, and anthropology of ancient trades and societies. Given that Yerzhan himself is into the topic and has a load of knowledge about it, seeing the sites and listening to the stories can help you better understand the regions.

My tour with Yerzhan was great! He was very well informed about history and current issues of the region. The communication was easy and so the car ride to and from Turkestan was already a pleasure. In Turkestan, Yerzhan had a lot to tell about the sites and even took me to the places most people miss out on. Pick up and drop off at the hotel were very smooth and without any problems. Definitely reccomend the tour, since I had a great day!
