Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Душанбе, Таджикистан to Калаихум, Таджикистан

Meeting at your stayed accommodation and get start the journy to Pamir! We set off east towards the Pamirs and Kalaikhumb, driving through beautiful scenery and interesting villages’ en route. This area is a little more conservative, and we see many men with beards, and women wearing traditional dress. We will cross the Shurabad Pass (2200m high) On the road we will visit to the ancient fortress Hulbuk dated by VIII century recently restored under the decree of the president. The local guide will talk interesting stories about the life in the fortress, shows outlines of the bases of rooms, halls and harems of the local governor’s palace. Arrive to Kalaikhumb in the early evening.

Day 2: Калаихум, Таджикистан to Хорог, Таджикистан

Today is arguably one of the most iconic drives in Central Asia. We follow the Panj River for hundreds of kilometers, with Tajikistan on one side and Afghanistan on the other.The Afghan Frontier: The gorge is so narrow in parts that you can see the faces of people in the Afghan villages across the river. You’ll witness the "ovings" — ancient hand-built galleries hanging off cliffs that locals still use for transport. Engineering Marvels: We’ll navigate the rugged road carved into the granite cliffs, a true testament to the isolation and resilience of the Pamiri people. The Capital of the Roof of the World: We arrive in Khorog, the administrative center of the Gorno-Badakhshan region. It’s a unique mountain town known for its high education levels and the beautiful Ismaili Center. Overnight in guesthouse in Khorog,

Day 3: Хорог, Таджикистан to Ишкошим, Таджикистан

We enter the Wakhan Corridor, a valley steeped in the history of the "Great Game" between the British and Russian Empires.The Soak: We stop at Garm-Chashma. These natural hot springs have formed massive white calcium terraces. A soak in the mineral waters (40°C) is the ultimate mountain spa experience.Ishkashim: A dusty, atmospheric border town. If we are lucky with the schedule, we might see the cross-border Afghan market. Overnight: Traditional Wakhi homestay.

Day 4: Ишкошим, Таджикистан to Лангар, Таджикистан

oday is about the ancient guardians of the valley.Yamchun Fortress: Built in the $III$ century BCE to control the Silk Road. It’s a steep climb, but the view of the Hindu Kush peaks in Afghanistan is the best on the entire trip.Sacred Waters: Visit the Bibi Fatima springs, located inside a natural cave.Architecture: We stay in a Pamiri House. Every element here is symbolic—the five pillars represent family members, and the skylight (Chid) represents the four elements.Overnight: Homestay in Langar.

Day 5: Лангар, Таджикистан to Ozero Bulyun-Kul', Таджикистан

Climbing to the high-altitude plateau. Visit the petroglyphs near Langar. Arrival at the remote village of Bulunkul, one of the coldest places in Central Asia

Day 6: Ozero Bulyun-Kul', Таджикистан to Яшилькуль, Таджикистан

xplore the breathtaking Yashilkul and Bulunkul lakes. Instead of staying in the busy village, we will stop right at the shore of Yashilkul Lake. Special Highlight: You will stay in my private Yurt Camp and Guesthouse located directly by the lake. Enjoy the sunset over the turquoise water. Relax in the natural hot springs located just steps away from your yurt. Authentic Pamiri dinner and stargazing in one of the quietest places on Earth.

Day 7: Яшилькуль, Таджикистан to Мургаб, Таджикистан

Wake up to the peaceful views of the lake. After breakfast, we depart from our lakeside camp and drive through the Alichur plateau. We will visit Alichur village to see the local life and yak herds, then continue over the high-altitude passes to Murghab, the highest town in the Pamirs.

Day 8: Мургаб, Таджикистан to Каракуль, Таджикистан

Crossing the highest point of the trip — Ak-Baital Pass (4,655 meters). Arrival at the spectacular Karakul Lake, located in a meteor crater.

Day 9: Каракуль, Таджикистан to Tulpar kul, Сары-Могол, Кыргызстан

Crossing the Kyzyl-Art border to Kyrgyzstan. Drive to the base camp of Peak Lenin (Tulpar-Kul Lake). Enjoy the view of the 7,000m peaks and stay in a yurt.

Day 10: Tulpar kul, Сары-Могол, Кыргызстан to Ош, Кыргызстан

Drive through the green Alay Valley and over the Taldyk Pass. Arrival in Osh, the final destination of our great expedition.

What to know

High Altitude: We will be traveling at altitudes above 4,000m. Please consult your doctor and bring altitude sickness medication if needed. Clothing: Weather can change rapidly. Bring warm layers, a windproof jacket, and comfortable hiking shoes, even in summer. Cash: There are very few ATMs on the route. Please bring enough cash in local currency (Somoni) for meals and souvenirs. Flexibility: Road conditions on the Pamir Highway can be unpredictable. We prioritize your safety and may adjust the timing slightly if necessary.
