Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Bukhara, Uzbekistan

Arrive in Bukhara. You will be met by Nazar and transferred to the hotel. Check in to the hotel. Bukhara City tour (Uzbekistan) In the morning after breakfast Take a walking sightseeing tour with a guide in historic center of Bukhara which has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Visit Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Chor-Minor Madrasah, trade domes, Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan madrasahs, Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque and Miri-Arab Madrasah, legendary Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, Ismail Samani and Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. Enjoy free time in Old City. Overnight at the hotel. Duration of sightseeing tour: 5-6 hours

Day 2: Bukhara, Uzbekistan to Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Bukhara to Samarkand 274 km, 5hr 14m (Uzbekistan), 1N After breakfast depart to Samarkand Stop on the way at Caravanserai Rabat-i-Malik dating back to 11th century. Arrive in Samarkand have a lanch in Samarkand after lanch check in to the hotel. Start sightseeing. Day 3: Samarkand, Uzbekistan to Panjakent, Tajikistan

Samarkand - Panjakent- Seven lake 62 km, 1hr 10m (Tajikistan), 1N In the morning drive to Uzbek-Tajik border Jartepa/Sarazm. After crossing border and an excursion of Penjikent. Visit Museum of Rudaki – As Penjikent is a birthplace of Abu Abdallah Rudaki, (considered by many to be the father of Persian Poetry), local bazaar and mosque. PM. Visit Ancient Penjikent - ruins of old Sogdian town founded in 5th century and abandoned in the 8th century by Arabs. Foundations of houses, a citadel with a couple of Zoroastrian fire temples and city bazaar are visible in the excavated ruins. Sarazm ruins - one of the ancient settlement in Central Asia with 5500 years civilization. In 2010 the Sarazm was added to the list of the Human heritage by UNESCO. After finishing city tour drive to Seven beautiful Lakes. The first lakes name’s Mizhgon (eyelash) – Multi-coloured, one of the most beautiful Marguzor lakes. The Soya (shade) second lake and third lakes Husher (vigilance) at h 1700м. The fourth lakes name’s Nofin length 3,5км, depth 70m. The fifth lakes Hurdak. The sixth lakes Marguzor – length of lake 5км, depth of 80 metres, h on a sea level 2139м. Seventh Lake-Hazorchashma (one thousand sources) at h 2400м, length 4,5км and depth 85м. Picnic near the lake Afternoon drive back to Penjekent city. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4: Panjakent, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Penjikent – Iskanderkul – Dushanbe Drive to Dushanbe via Iskanderkul Lake. According to the legend, the Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, known as Iskander in the East. People say that Alexander the Great's path to India passed by this lake. Lunch at the traditional homestay "Dilovar". After, you will stroll around the lake, explore five springs and Zmeinoe (Snake) Lake, walk to 38 m high waterfall that local people compare to Niagara and call Fanskaya Niagara (Niagara of Fan). Drive to Dushanbe. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan

Dushanbe – Kalaikum – 380 km – 7/8hrs. / drive As we leave the capital towards the east, we get to see hills full of wheat plantation. We will drive along the railroad up to Dangara District. Over the pass, we will arrive at Nurek water reserve. When there is open sky, this place brings spectacular landscape.After the little drive, landscapes changes. We start seeing bushes and trees. As we pass through two tunnels, we will see cultivated land, wheat plantation, and barley plantations. We will start seeing mud brick local houses, electric grids and some villages. In the Dangara, we will see cattle breeders, cows, sheep and goats. Fields becomes greener and greener. Then, we rich ancient 10- century city Hulbuk. Note that, excursion must be quicker. Otherwise, we have long driver today until the destination. Then, we drive bit further. Before entering the Kulob city, we will stop before the city and buy fruits, local bread and some snack. Just leaving the city, we will stop for lunch in ordinary teahouse. Having lunch we maintain towards Shurabad pass, which is very dry and hot and little windy. At the top, we will stop at checkpoint. As we pass, the temperature becomes cooler. Finally, we will reach the famous, Oxus River and Afgan border. As we drove down closer to river, we will be introduced to the livelihood of Afghan people on the other site of the river MSDSP Guesthouse 6 rooms. There are 2 toilet and 2 shower for shear with others. WIFI (BLD).

Day 6: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Khorog, Tajikistan

Khalai-Hum – Khorog - 240 km 5-6 hrs / drive In the morning we continue along the border, enjoying the views of Afghanistan. The road to Khorog will take about 5-6 hours. Khorog is perhaps one of the tiniest cities on the world map. It is surrounded by rocky mountains on all four sides. The city was built at the confluence of 3 rivers, where the Shokhdara River and the Gund River flow into the Panj River. Among the Pamiris, there is a high percentage of people with blond hair, fair skin and blue eyes. The Pamir Mountains are the highest inhabited mountains in the world after the Himalayas in Tibet. Life in the mountains has changed the traditions of the locals. having lunch on the way to Khorog, We will visit for dinner in the restaurant and stay in Kevikas, Hotel 3 * WIFI (BLD)

Day 7: Khorog, Tajikistan to Langar, Tajikistan

Khorog – Langar – 244 km – 6 hrs. / drive Continue to Ishkashim, administrative center in Wakhan valley. Here we enter various settlement of Wakhi. Ethnological, historically and cultural the social landscape is unique. On the way stop for hot springs at Garm-eChasma. After that, we reach the mouth of the Wakhan River valley. This is where the 19th century Great Game ended, between the Russian and British empires. From here, the road continues up along the north side of the river. There are amazing views of the Pamirs to the left and the Hindu Kush to the right. We will stop along the way for a scenic picnic. Further will admire the Khakha Fortress, dating from the third century BC and rising from a platform of natural rock. Just 300m further on is the interesting Ismaili mazar (tomb) of Shah-i-Mardan Hazrati Ali. After that, we move to next Zoroastrian «Fortress of Fire Worshippers». Further up the hillside, there is the hot springs at Bibi Fatima: minerals and very salty, the water at Bibi Fatima is crystal clear. At Yamg, visit the reconstructed home of Sufi mystic Muabara Kadam, who died in 1910. Near his house, there is a stone pillar with a hole, in which he used to calculate a solar calendar. After lunch we drive along the Wakhan valley from Yamg to Langar. There are places of interest to stop. Above the village of Vrang, on a cliff-side pitted with caves, stands a Buddhist complex dating from 4th-7th centuries. Overnight in home stay (BLD) 2900 m

Day 8: Langar, Tajikistan to Alichur, Tajikistan

Langar via Bulun Kul Lake to Alichor 250 km – 7 hrs. / drive Today, we will get up little earlier than usual due to the long drive. We heading to Eastern Pamir, leaving behind Wakhan valley. As we leave Langar village, the habitat becomes more semi-desert. We will drive along the Pamir River, which comes from Zor Kul Lake, north leaving behind Afganistan. From now on, we will be going up. The elevation becomes higher as we go. We will arrive to Khargush pass 4320m. There is a checkpoint. This pass is like going steady going through rocky desert hills. We will rich the top of the pass. Then, we pass by two small lakes before the Pamir Highway. After we will reach Alichor valley. Near the Pamir Highway, we will see Tuz Kul Lake, in fast valley of Alichor. As we reach the Pamir Highway. From Pamir Highway, we turn to Bulunkul Lake, 16 km from the main river. Once we rich the Bulun kul lake, we will have lunch or picnic. We will enjoy the time here and rest little longer. Enjoy the landscape for a while; Feel the friendship, hospitality and snoring yaks and we drive to Alichur village overnight in Nazars guesthouse.

Day 9: Alichur, Tajikistan to Karakul Lake, Tajikistan

Alichor – Murgab – Kara Kul Lake 320 km – 3 hrs. / drive In the morning afer the breakfast drive from Alichor to Murgab. After little while of driving we rich the Kara Kum summer pasture, The distance is not far away; we will be in Murgab by lunchtime. Being introduced to the land of nomads and the Eastern Pamir, we head on through the valley Alichor, 4100 meters high. Along the way, then driving we arrive at holly place Ak Balyk lake, crystal clear and sacred place. Quick look around and we continue to Caravan Sarai or Chine tum, which is 9 km from the main road near the Bash Gumbez village. After visit and driving from the Alichor, we arrive to Shakty cave, which is 800 000 years old drawings. It belongs to Neolithic period. This place is about 180 meters high up high on the edge of the foothill. We will arrive in Murgab. Having lunch near the Market, after lunch we leave Murgab and drive to Kara Kul Lake. We will arrive to the top of Abbatial pass. This is the highs pass in Pamir region exceeding over 4600 highs above the sea level. On the way, we have short stops and take pictures. After abbatial, the Muzkul valley begins, a dirt road. Remember that you are in highest lands of central Eurasia. We will arrive in Kara Kul, highest salt-lake in Central Asia. Having a nice panorama landscape views. Overnight in Kyrgyz yurt .

Day 10: Karakul, Tajikistan to Jelondy Hot Spring Spa and Hotel, Dzhiland, Tajikistan

Kara Kul Lake – Jylandy hot spring 360 km / 6 hours drive Early morning we leave Kara Kul Lake and will drive back to via Murgab to Alichur village and we'll have yak riding in Alichur (Ride a yak in the High Pamir Mountains. Stay in an authentic yurt of a Kyrgyz shepherd. Yak is everything for locals. They ride it and use it for transportation. Their main income come from keeping yaks, and this is the only way of making a life. Taste a fresh cream from a yak’s milk. Experience the way locals live in harsh and high lands of Pamirs. )than we have lunch in Alichor village in Nazars Cafe «Golden Fish» there are very delicious fish you can test, than we will drive to Jilandy Hot Spring village, have bath at Hot Springs, overnight in hot spring.

Day 11: Jelondy Hot Spring Spa and Hotel, Dzhiland, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan

Jilandy Hot springs – Kalay hum 360km 7hrs / drive After Breakfast we will start our trip to Darvoz district. Today we will drive longway 360 km. A gorgeous road goes along the river up to the Vanj valley where the road widens up. The road continues along the Afghan border up to Kalaikhum village with picturesque scenery. Lanch on the way to Kalay-hum Arrival in Kalaikhum village and be accommodated in a guesthouse.

Day 12: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Kalay-hum - Khoburubot Pass (3 252)- Dushanbe In the morning we will drive to Dushanbe via a mountain road. You will drive over the high Khoburubot Pass (3 252) known as Western Pamir Tract. The road goes through the most picturesque river valley and amazing gorges in the terrain, where one can stop for rest and shoot photos of the mountain and rivers. On the way, you will see small villages and meet local people. Tajiks are by nature hard-working, hospitable, and kind-hearted. This nation greatly respects its traditions and folklore. This trip is attractive for lovers of exotics, those curious about the ethnic and cultural diversity and captivated by the beauty of wild nature. Dinner will be in a restaurant. The night is in a hotel. End of the trip!

Day 13: Dushanbe, Tajikistan

After breakfast We start with a walk in center, main avenues to get a sense of post-soviet, semi modern, traditional Tajik society and infrastructure. Then we visit National Museum, which is four stare and tall building. The museum has historical, cultural, environmental, archeological, and mineralogical artifact. We will see the prototype of sleeping Buddha. Then, we proceed, a walk along the Rudaki Avenue where we will see president’s palace, world tallest flag, Ismail Somoni’s statue, 10th century Tajik leader. We will get a sense of nation building process after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Near the stature, there is a large national library decorated with famous Persian poets, classic writers, doctors, and scholars., This city less crowded, well-developed public transportation, and local choikhona’s, teahouses, prepares very nice traditional food, especial in lunch times.
