Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Kalinino, Kazakhstan
Almaty-Kapchagai-Altyn Emel (370 km including 100 km offroad) In the morning meeting with the guide and departure from Almaty. On the way, travelers can see the artificial reservoir Kapshagai and take photos. Then, we arrive at the village, where we have lunch and get a pass to the national park. After lunch, we drive to the singing dune. Upon arrival, we walk there for about 1 hour. Then, we arrive at the village, where we have lunch and get a pass to the national park. Day 2: Kalinino, Kazakhstan
Altyn Emel After breakfast, we drive to the colored mountains in the national park and walk there for about 2-3 hours, not forgetting to have lunch there. Then we drive to the rocks of hardened volcanic lava, where we walk from 30 minutes to 1 hour. After that, we are on the road again and drive to the willow, which is over 700 years old. There we spend about 15-30 minutes and return to the village, where we are waiting for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Kalinino, Kazakhstan to Tekes, Kazakhstan
Altyn Emel-Dungan mosque-Charyn canyon-village near Tekes waterfall After breakfast we leave for the town where we can see the Dungan mosque (a unique building in Kazakhstan that resembles a Chinese temple) and the Orthodox Church. After that, we go to the Charyn Canyon, not forgetting to have lunch on the way. Walking along the Valley of Castles of the Charyn Canyon can take from 1 hour to 3 hours (upper part, lower part). After a walk through the Charyn canyon, we arrive at Kegen village for dinner and ovenight at old soviet style motel with basic conditions.
Day 4: Kegen, Kazakhstan to Saty, Kazakhstan
Kegen-Tekes waterfall-Tuzkol-village n.Kolsay After breakfast we drive to a small but original Tekes waterfall. It is somewhat similar to a bowl. The road itself is very picturesque, not designed for an ordinary car. After a walk to the waterfall and back, we leave for a salt lake, where 1 liter of water accounts for 300 grams of salt. On the way to the lake, we can see a wooden building from the late 19th-early 20th century. You can also hear birds there. After a walk by the lake, we will drive to a village near the Kolsai lakes and drive along a picturesque mountain road. In the village we will have dinner and overnight in a guest house.
Day 5: Saty, Kazakhstan
Village – Kaindy lake – Kolsai lake-village After breakfast we drive to Kaiyndy lake off-road. The journey can take from 40 minutes to 1 hour. Translated from Kazakh, Kaiyndy means a place where birches grow. However, birches grow before reaching the lake. Spruce trunks remained in the center of the lake. This whole landscape looks great. Then, we drive to the village to have lunch. After that, we drive to Kolsai lake. A walk along the lake can take from 1 hour to 2 hours. Also, for an additional amount, you can ride a boat or catamaran. At the end of the day, we will return to the village with dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Saty, Kazakhstan to Almaty, Kazakhstan
Village n.Kolsay-musem of Golden warrior-Issyk lake-Almaty After breakfast, we drive to the Museum of the Golden Man of the Bronze Age through the Uighur village, where there is a small market in the center. Upon arrival at this small museum, you can also see many burial mounds from the outside. After the museum we drive to Lake Issyk for a short walk no more than 1 hour. At the end of our day we will return to Almaty.
