Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Zhibek Zholy, Kazakhstan to Shymkent, Kazakhstan
June 6, Transfer from Uzbekistan border to Shymkent city
Day 2: Shymkent, Kazakhstan to Sayram, Kazakhstan
June 7, Shymkent city tour and Sayram ancient history. 9 am - 13 am - Pick up from the hotel. City tour. Koshkar Ata holy springs and Mediaeval Citadel of the city. Baidybek Bi northern panorama view. Transfer to ancient Sayram town. 20 km from Shymkent. 13 pm- 17 pm Ancient mausoleums of Sayram as important part of the mediaeval history of the Southern Kazakhstan. Ibrahim Ata, Karashash Ana and other main mausoleums of Sayram town. Launch in Sayram town. Famous local Uzbek real tandoori samusa. Return to the hotel.
Day 3: Shymkent, Kazakhstan to Kaskasu, Shymkent, Kazakhstan
Wednesday, 8 June 2022 Shymkent Visiting mountain Kazakh Kaska Su village, Tea with Kazakh family in the village. Excursion around the village and light hking near the village. 9 am - pick up from the hotel. 10 am - 11.30 - Transfer to the mountain Kazakh village. 70 km up to the mountains from the city On the way buying the snacks for the tea and visiting some holy places and sightseens. 12 am - coming to the village and short tea with the Kazakh family. 13 pm - 17 pm - excursion around the village, Degustating mare's milk. Light hiking near the village in the valley and mountain gorge with the mountain river. Hiking will be just close to Sayram- Ugam national nature park. 17 pm - Return to the city.
Day 4: Shymkent, Kazakhstan to Turkistan, Kazakhstan
Thursday, 9 June 2022 Turkistan city and surroundings 9 am - depart from the hotel to Turkistan city by car. 180 km from Shymkent. 10.30 am - stop and visiting on the way to Turkistan the Arystan bab holy complex, one of the main sacred places in the region. 11.30 am - 13 pm - transfer and visiting Otyrar ghost ancient city in the steppe. 14 pm - 15 pm - next stop and visiting near Turkistan city Gaukhar Ana mausoleum. 16 pm -17.00 - transfer to Turkistan city and having lunch in the local cafe enjoying domestic food. 17.30 pm - accommodation in the hotel. Evening promenade in the center of the city. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 5: Turkistan, Kazakhstan
Friday, 10 June 2022 Continuing in Turkistan city. 10 am - pick up in the hotel and transfer to world famous Mausoleum of H.A. Yassawi. 10.30 am - 13pm - excursion in the Mausoleum and all the main objects around; underground mosque, mediaeval bathhouse and others. 13- 14 pm - Small walking around the new Caravan Saray amusement complex near the Mausoleum. Lunch in local cafe. 14.30 pm - transfer to Sauran ghost city and archeological site. 60 km from Turkistan city. Located in the steppe. 15.30 pm - 17 pm - visiting Sauran ghost city and excursion around it. 17 pm - return to Turkistan city. Overnight in hotel.
Day 6: Turkistan, Kazakhstan to Taraz, Kazakhstan
Saturday, 11 June 2022 Trip from Turkestan to Taraz 9 am - start the jorney to Taraz passing through Shymkent 11 am - on the way to Shymkent visiting Ak Meshet Giant nature cave. Short excursion. 12 am - visiting famous Domalak Ana mausoleum and holy spring near it. Lunch in road cafe on the highway. 13 pm - continuing the trip to Taraz city and having the stops on the way to see the mountain views. 17 pm - visiting famous mediaeval mausoleum Aisha Bibi close to Taraz city. 19 pm - arrival to Taraz city and accommodation in the hotel.
Day 7: Taraz, Kazakhstan
Sunday, 12 June 2022 Taraz - local sight seeing 10 am. –pick up in the hotel and visiting medieval spiritual Karakhan Ata mausoleum and old bath house complex. Visiting local ethnographic and historical open air museum Kone Taraz. Excursion in the ruins of ancient city. City tour around centre of Taraz city. 13 pm - Lunch in local cafe Samarkand. 15 - 17 pm - Visiting ancient Tek Turmas historical complex. Great panorama view from the Talas river bank. 18 pm - Short evening promenade in the centre of the city. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 8: Taraz, Kazakhstan to Chaldovar, Kazakhstan
Monday, 13 June 2022 Taraz to Bishkek (Chaldybar border drop). 10 am - start of the jorney to Merke town which is close to Chaldobar border post. Lunch in the road cafe. 14 pm - 15 pm - arrival to Chaldobar cross border station. End of the journey.
