Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Bat-Ulzii - Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall, Bat-Öldziï, Mongolia

The tour group departs from Ulaanbaatar to Orkhon valley. Driving through central Mongolia, we will pay visit to Uurt valley, a picturesque gorge located in Orkhon. Imagine driving through beautiful landscape featuring rivers, lakes, forested mountains, and interesting rock formations( due to volcanic eruption). You will have time to experience and take photos of wild birds, herds of yaks, horses and other cattle in the beautiful valley. Our destination is a lovely family of Tomorsukh's, one of few in the young generation, who chose to continue the legacy and heritage of nomadic lifestyle. This is a great opportunity to have a talk with locals, and learn distinct perspectives of life. Tumursukh will be providing horses and guiding the tour group throughout the horse trekking around the Eight lakes. You will be staying overnight in a ger next to this family.

Day 2: Bat-Ulzii - Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall, Bat-Öldziï, Mongolia to Khuisiin Naiman Lake, Mongolia

After breakfast in the morning, we pack and get ourselves and the horses ready for the epic journey. Ride legendary Mongolian horse, on whose back their ancestor, Chingis Khan, formed the largest empire in the history. We will be riding horses for about 20km to the west to another nomad family in local region called Buurug to spend a night on the way to the Eight lakes.

Day 3: Khuisiin Naiman Lake, Mongolia

The eight lakes consist of Shireet, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Khuis, Shanaa, Doroo and Bayan Uul lakes, all interconnected through underground water panel. These lakes are located in high mountainous area comprising alpine meadows and forests of Siberian pines and larches. Today, the tour group continue riding the horses to reach the nearest of the eight lakes-Khuis. We will be staying with another local nomad family by the Khuis lake.

Day 4: Khuisiin Naiman Lake, Mongolia

Now that we have reached one of the 8 lakes, it is time to explore the rest of the beauty today. the lakes are pretty close to each other that the furthest is about 13-15km. The smallest one is called Duruu lake, and the biggest and the most beautiful one is called the Shireet lake. Bonding with your horses through the adventure ride, you will be amazed by the breath-taking sceneries in the Eight lakes region. The team comes back the family by Khuis lake to stay overnight.

Day 5: Khuisiin Naiman Lake, Mongolia

Today, we head back to Buurug region from the Eight lakes area. The horses are pretty smart that they know they are returning home, so their legs are little lighter & faster than usual. We've got one more chance to feel the glory of the splendid mountains and landscape.
