Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Tehran to Qazvin
A voyage to the Castles of the Assassins, on the summit of a ragged peak in the Alborz Mountains, there lies the ruins of one of history’s most fearsome secrets. This journey through the Alamut region is packed in two energetic days. Hiking in the Alamut valley, visit Ovan lake and capture picturesque photos, walk through the ancient and see the Castel of Hasan Sabbah, and stay at local house in the beautiful Gazorkhan village, all in all, makes this precious journey. Day 01: Tehran- Qazvin (153 km) Morning pick up from hotel , drive to Qazvin , a city with a powerful historical background ;as a center of the Sasanian Empire, second capital of Safavid dynasty and pleasant spot on the Silk Road that all make it wonderfully restored caravanserai-turned-arts precinct. Visit old Sepah street, Chehel Soton palace, Aliqapou mansion and Qazvin traditional bazaar (Sad-o Saltaneh). Qazvin overnight.
Day 2: Qazvin
Day 02: Qazvin- Alamut Valley (100 km) Head into the mountainous road toward Alamut valley , get to Gazorkhan village and check in a nice traditional Eco lodge in the very heart of nature and some 15 minutes to Alamut Castle. Then hike to the Hasan-e-Sabbah Castle , which is built in the ninth century on top of a high rock reaching 2163 m above sea level with about 400 steps with a slope of about 35 degrees. After adventures hiking you will rest at a nice and friendly Eco Lodge and would enjoy organic local foods. Gazorkhan village overnight.
Day 3: Qazvin to Tehran
Day 03: Alamut Valley - Tehran Drive to Oven lake , have nature excursion around the lake , stop on the way and visit local villagers , and very interesting local markets . Then drive to Tehran with picturesque memory of amazing nature of Alamut valley , history background of Sassanid Empire and lovely local culture . Note: You continue Iran adventure by visiting Iran’s highlighted destinations; Shiraz, Yazd, Isfahan and Kashan.
