Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to NP Altyn-Emel' Visit center, Kalinino, Kazakhstan
Altyn Emel National Park – Aktau & Katutau Mountains Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Almaty to the vast landscapes of Altyn National Park‑Emel. The park is one of the largest protected areas in Central Asia and is famous for its colorful mountains, desert ecosystems and rare wildlife. Aktau Mountains Visit the surreal Aktau Mountains, often called the “Martian mountains" of Kazakhstan. These ancient sedimentary formations display spectacular layers of white, red, yellow and orange rock created over millions of years. Walk through the canyon-like landscape and enjoy one of the most photogenic places in the region. Katutau Mountains Continue to the dramatic volcanic formations of Mount Katutau. These rugged lava mountains formed from ancient volcanic activity and create a wild and mysterious landscape with unusual rock shapes and panoramic desert views. 700-Year-Old Willow Tree On the way back to the village, stop at the legendary 700‑year-old willow tree, a sacred tree believed to be more than seven centuries old. The massive trunk and wide branches make it one of the oldest natural landmarks in the park. Overnight in a guesthouse near Altyn Emel. Day 2: Kalinino, Kazakhstan to Charyn Canyon Visitor Center, Чарын, Kazakhstan
Singing Dune & Charyn Canyon After breakfast, continue exploring the unique landscapes of Altyn National Park‑Emel. Singing Dune Visit the famous Singing dune, a giant sand dune reaching over 150 meters in height. When the wind moves the sand, the dune produces a deep humming sound similar to an organ or distant thunder. Climb to the top for breathtaking panoramic views of the Ili River valley and surrounding desert mountains. Charyn Canyon In the afternoon, travel to the spectacular Charyn Canyon. Explore the famous Valley of Castles, where towering sandstone cliffs restore ancient castles shaped by wind and erosion over millions of years. Enjoy a scenic hike along the canyon floor and take photos of one of Kazakhstan’s most impressive natural wonders. In the evening continue to the mountain village of Saty. Overnight in a traditional guesthouse. Meal plan Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner are included - will be at the guest house
Day 3: Saty, Kazakhstan to Almaty, Kazakhstan
Kolsai & Kaindy Lakes – Return to Almaty After breakfast, travel to the beautiful alpine landscapes of Kolsai Lakes. Kolsai Lake Visit Kolsai Lake No. 1, the largest and most accessible of the three lakes. Surrounded by pine forests and mountain peaks, the lake offers peaceful walking trails and incredible views of the Northern Tien Shan mountains. Kaindy Lake Continue to the mysterious Kaindy Lake, famous for its unique sunken forest. After an earthquake in 1911, a natural dam formed and flooded the valley, leaving tall spruce trees rising from the turquoise water. Today it is one of the most unusual and photogenic lakes in Central Asia. Black Canyon Stop On the return journey to Almaty, make a short photo stop at the dramatic Black Canyon, known for its dark volcanic rock formations and panoramic viewpoints. Arrival in Almaty in the evening. Meal plan Breakfast and Lunch are included - will be at the guest house
