He specializes in the natural sights around Almaty and southeastern Kazakhstan: Altyn-Emel National Park, the Aktau Mountains, Singing Dune, Charyn Canyon, and the Kolsai and Kaindy lakes, as well as longer routes that cross into Kyrgyzstan toward Karakol, Son-Kul and Jyrgalan. He drives a 4x4 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and can handle off-road stretches and remote guesthouses in villages like Saty and Bashi.

Maksat was our first point of contact in Kazakhstan, after he'd picked us up from the Karkyra Border. The two days that we spent with Maksat were filled with gorgeous terrains, insightful discussions on the local culture, and great food recommendations. He is an excellent driver, polite, exceedingly professional, and made us feel at ease throughout the journey. He also clicks really good pictures and videos. I cannot recommend Mat highly enough. He is such a loving, sincere, and kind person. During our trip to Salty Village in Almaty, Kazakhstan, I suddenly fell ill. Mat went above and beyond the call of duty to help me when I wasn't feeling well. He was incredibly attentive and made sure I was safe and comfortable.
