Charyn Canyon And Issyk Lake One Day Trip

Day 1: Almaty

Charyn canyon one of the most picturesque places and best directions in Almaty region. A lot of visitors of Charyn then sayed that they saw in Kazakhstan small copy of the Grand Canyon. Trip are planing to finish at 7-8 pm. On the way we can see farm animals horses, sheeps, cows. Wild animals and birds like golden eagles, jerboa, partridge and etc. It takes near of 2,5 hours to get to the canyon. The half part of the way is Comfortable highway and asphalt road. Then walking through the canyon 2 km in one direction. Possible to organise a picnic near of the river or have a hot lunch in Uighurs cafe on the way. You should be ready it can be really hot there during the summer days. I suggest to have long sleeve clothes and suncream. During the tour we will pass through the city of Almaty Issyk satellite. This is a cozy village surrounded by fields, gardens and mountains. The town has all the modern infrastructure, educational centers, a winery, a dairy plant, a college, a beautiful mosque and a church on the river bank. During the tour, you can stay on the Issyk River, where the trout farm is organized, catch trout and have a lunch. During of Walking along the lake, you can see on the hill mounted the golden cross. It symbolizes the memory of the events of July 1963, when a mudflow in the gorge killed about 1,000 people. Today, many vacationers organize picnics on the lake, swimming. You can also take a motor boat ride on the lake and admire the views. In winter, the lake freezes and becomes covered with ice about 40 cm thick.
