We couldn’t recommend Roman more! We did the two days trip to Altyn Emel and Charyn Canyon. Roman was very attentive and prepared. We covered all the destinations included, the car was clean and in perfect status and the guest house had all we needed. Tatyana guided us for 3 hours on a walking tour through Almaty. We got the impression that Almaty does not have singular sightseeing-highlights, but is rather an atmospheric city to experience by walking. Therefore, it was great to have Tatyana not only show us main building and streets, but provided great background information on Kazakhstan/Almaty, her work in tourism, her family story in Almaty, and the surrounding of Almaty. She was very flexible on designing the tour for us and communicated proactively and fast. We had a great morning in Almaty with her.

From first contact until we finished our trip at Kazakhstan border everything was well organised and professional. Roman {Tatyana's wife} was our guide and he was engaging and knew a lot about the country. We went to Charyn Canyon, Kaindy Lake and two Kolsai Lakes in beautiful weather. Did a day trek and stayed in acceptable guest house. Overall very good impression and would recommend.

Tatyana and Roman were amazing guides. We had a lovely 3 days with them and were so happy to learn more about Kazakhstan and ask all the little questions that had been building up since we'd arrived in the country. We've never done a guided tour before and weren't sure what to expect, but both Tatyana and Roman are warm and friendly which made the 3 days together feel like hanging out with new friends. When we're next in Kazakhstan we'll plan to meet up with them again, and hope to see them somewhere else in the world in the future! Thank you both for taking care of us!

My wife and I decided to go with Tatyana and Roman for a 2 day excursion to Charyn Canyon, and Lakes Kolsai and Kaindy. We chose Tatyana due the fact that she has been involved in tourism for almost a decade. Her experience really shows! Our time with them was the highlight of a very busy 2 week trip. The drive was wonderful, and Roman did his best to help me find beautiful spots for photography and to fly my drone. He was an excellent driver. Tatyana was a wealth of information. She layered so much interesting and useful information. You could tell how long she has been doing this, as every employee at the national parks seemed to know her, as if she was some celebrity. The most valuable thing about Tatyana and Roman is that they know where to find amazing food, which alone is worth it. They told me they choose which guesthouses to go to based on the quality and taste of the food first and foremost, while not compromising on a great atmosphere for the guests. I couldn`t have been happier with my experience, and am fortunate to have made 2 good friends along the way.

I actually chose Tatyana among all other tour guides who were quick to respond to my request because she immediately sent me a message that was very detailed. She really has a good command on how to make use of our time efficiently. She was also very accommodating to offer us a detour plan when we couldn`t see Big Almaty Lake. Overall, We really enjoyed the company of Tatyana together with her husband, Roman. They were very generous in filling out our curiosity about the life in Kazakh by sharing both Kazakh`s history and stories. We felt very welcomed and they really helped us in handling conversations with the locals. They were also very punctual. I would be very happy to recommend them to our friends and even to those who are looking a guide to explore the country. I felt like I found a family in Kazakhstan. They make me want to go back there again. Plus Almaty in itself is naturally stunning!

Tatyana and Roman were great! Tatyana communicates very well before the trip and gave us a wonderful welcome to Almaty. We spent only a few hours together but she took us to the best sites and gave great us great information about history and culture. I would highly recommend them!

We chose Tatyana because her answer was the most extensive and had the most information in it. It was hard to decide anyway because we got quite a few offers. In the end we were very happy with our choice. We had good and easy communication per email. We were picked up in a very good car, she and the driver Valeri are just super nice people. The trip turned out to be even more interesting than we had thought. We could visit different places at the Altyn-Emel National park, the singing dune, Charyn Canyon and Kaindy lake. The home stays were great as well, it gave us a good understanding of the way of live in the country side. Tatyana helped us with everything. She has a wude knowledge of the history and likes to share her experiences. I really like her as a person as well, she is so nice and helpful. It makes it very easy being together for days. The driver Valerie also is a great guy with awesome driving skills! There is quite a bit of difficult offroad driving to do and we never felt insecure. And both were patient with our little extra wishes and extra stopps! Really, we were so happy with our trip! Well worth the money and I would book them at once again!

It went alright. Tatyana is obviously knowledgeable about Kazakhstan and is willing to share tons of information. I contacted her before I booked to make sure she was available but it seemed otherwise. I was the one to message and confirm details. The day of the trip we ran late due to some scheduling issues she had and then we were rushed through the first part of the day. We agreed on an everything included price but then she offered for us to take a taxi out of the canyon and we paid for it, including her spot. Even though I contacted her before to confirm details- she still seemed unprepared for things that I specifically asked about. The driver was great. He was a safe and thoughtful driver.

Simply put, you couldn`t ask for better guides than Tanya and her husband Roman! Let me explain why. Our day at the Charyn Canyon was nothing short of superb, Tanya`s unrivalled knowledge of the area and its history as well as her hugely entertaining, conversational style, made for one of the best tours I have ever been on. This feeling was only enhanced by the lunch stop we made at a Uighur cafe, where Tanya had arranged for a selection of local dishes to be served. The food was delicious! I must, however, not forget Roman, who was an incredibly accommodating driver, willing to pull over at a second`s notice whenever he or we spotted something to photograph (the fact that he is, himself, a talented photographer no doubt explains his happiness to do so). Roman is also, incidentally, one of the best drivers we encountered on our tour of Central Asia, he made us feel safe, and at ease, from the minute we got in the car. All that is left for me to say is that this pair are hugely deserving of their many positive reviews, I am extremely glad to provide just another such review and am sure that they will not stop rolling in for a long time yet! Tatyana was one of the best options we got for the trip. Answering to every our questions in really quick time. The cars we had were also in really good condition, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we could not see most of the trip, due to "weather" which we could not never predict 100%. But if you are a looking for a good tour, ask for Tatyana

Tatyana organized a spectacular tour through Charyn Canyon and the (luckily unpeopled) Kolsay Lakes National Park. We stayed overnight in a comfortable and authentic accommodation where we came into contact with traditional Kazakh life and food. We had a perfect stay these days in Kazakhstan. We had an absolutely lovely day with Tatyana and her husband and driver Roman. We hiked Charyn Canyon, shared lunch with them at a Uighur cafe, and along the way learned about the history, agriculture, culture, and geography of the steppes and anything else we asked about. She gave us lots of information and time to absorb it. We had a conversation rather than just a rote lecture.

Tatyana was very responsive and was able to tailor a day of travels around Almaty that met our needs. She and her husband picked us up at our hotel at the designated time and were very professional, informative and fun! We learned a lot about Kazakhstan from them and they made the long day of driving/exploring very exciting and not a drag. We were lucky in that we went on this trip at the end of October before the snow really settled in. We were able to take a small car for most of the trip and Tatyana arranged a bigger one for Kaindy Lakes which was more off-the-beaten path. Tatyana was a great guide at each stop and led the way, which was definitely needed in some parts with snow covering the trail. Roman was a safe driver and encouraged us to request stops whenever we saw a photo opportunity or needed a bathroom break. It was a very memorable day for us in Almaty and it was only possible with Tatyana and Roman!

Travelling with Tatyana is always wonderful. She is a positive person who is passionate about guiding and always keen to ensure that you have a good experience. She likes to share a lot of information about the places that she takes you to. She likes you to feel comfortable and well fed as a guest which is really important. We went to the Charyn canyon and had a great time! Our guide walked with us along the canyon and told interesting sometimes funny stories (he was very well informed) about the place. At the end of the canyon we rested at a little river before heading back. I definitely recommend visiting this beautiful place because the sight was just breathtaking :) (But maybe not during hot months like July.) At the end we ate delicious food at a local restaurant and were driven back to our hotel. So all in all it was an experience we 100% recommend :)

Was great & super experience ever I`ve done, everything was better than I expected. Finally I knew that there is one of the best lake in Kazakhstan, and various nature view has marvelous looking. Tatyana was always trying to talk with me, it made me being not boring. Historical things I wondered has always solved by her, because she told me every deep historical story about structure or land scapes. The driver is her husband, it means they have very good combination for tour. So I didn`t need to have any complain between guide and driving the car. they will may have a discussion with each other, if there is any problem(Actually there was no problem at all). Tatyana is always considering about my order to make a photo. I ordered best spot and best angle for photo, she is very good at taking it(I think she has lots of experience). And she is always taking care of my status and feeling, if you have any question or complain, just it would be transfered to Tatyana. Again, I REALLY appreciate her kindness and benevolence. after few year, if I have a plan to travel to Kyrgyzstan, obviously I will contact to Tatyana for sure.

We arranged a one-day tour to Kaindy lake and Charyn canyon. Everything was wonderful. Tatyana and Roman told us a lot about the places we have visited and many other different things about Kazakhstan. They were very helpful and our small health problems were not a problem because of this. We can only recommend their services!

We had a great with Tatyana and his husband off to see the Big Almaty Lake. During the trip, she will fill you up with a complete and very interesting history of Almaty and more largely Kazakhstan. She speaks a fluent english and knows very well her subject which is a great thing to ask every questions you might have on the country (politics, nature, history...). I booked a one day tour with Tatyana, taking in sights outside Almaty: the Charyn Canyon, Korday Lake and Kaindy Lake. We started at 5am and got back 16 hours later at 9pm, covering more than 600km. Throughout the entire trip, Tatyana was a kind, considerate and professional guide, who really made the day a real pleasure. Her husband drove us, and was also a great companion. I wholeheartedly recommend Tatyana to anyone wanting to explore the Almaty region.

I booked a tour with Tatyana from Almaty airport to Charyn canyon and Kaindy lake. The driver was there waiting for me and after a couple dozen minutes we found the correct road to take us there. The driver (who spoke fluent English) was very experienced - he would know how to fix pretty much any problem with the vehicle, which was very able off-road, and I felt safe with him driving. Lunch at a traditional Kazakh home was delicious and another special memory, which made me not mind that breakfast was not included. The included dinner at a restaurant was also very good. I had not arranged accommodation in Almaty and the guide was very very helpful in helping me find accommodation despite having a super-long day himself. Water was provided (although I did not drink that much!). I felt very much at ease and my time seeing the canyon and lake could not have been better. They are beautiful sights and I am so glad I booked my tour through Tatyana. Thank you :)

Very professional contact with Tatyana via indiguide about possibilities for a tour. After a request we`ve posted she replied within seconds. We did a tour with her driver/husband Roman to the Charyn Canyon and had a wonderfull time. Communication in English with Roman was no problem at all, especially with the google translate app (Russian) at hand. We also liked the place where we went for lunch, and enjoyed a tipical Uyghur meal. Definitely recommend the services of Roman and Tatyana.

Tatyana arranged 3 days 2 nights all inclusive trip for 2 of us to the Canyon and 3 lakes in July 2018. She communicated on almost real time basis and made much effort to organize a group tour with other travellers for us to save costs, but unfortunately it didn`t work out. Due to last minute organization, the tour price for 2 pax was increased as demanded by the only available English speaking driver. However, after we made our deposit, the requested driver fell sick and was replaced by a non English speaking driver without reduction of the tour price. The overall trip organization was good, including the vehicle. The guesthouse served good food and comfortable room, except that there was no water available in the toilet. I appreciated the driver was trying his best to communicate with us using Google translate. However, due to language barrier, we were unable to ask and understand more about the local culture. Overall, I recommed other travellers to Tatyana.

The tour to both the Almaty lake and Charyn canyon was great, she walked with us in the canyon and she was warm and friendly and easy to talk to. Drivers arranged by her on both days drove safely and was helpful. I would recommend Tatyana to anyone going to almaty.

My trip to Charyn Canyon today was great! Tatyana was very clear in her communications about the trip. Driver Roman was very punctual and helpful. Tatyana was a great tour guide, I was lucky enough to have them work to my flight schedule, having picked me up later in the day and dropped off later at night. I spent the perfect afternoon with Tatyana and her husband Roman. They took me to Big Almaty Lake, A Birds of Prey Reserve and Kok Tobe. They knew all the great viewpoints to take photos and off beaten points like waterfalls and rock boulders. When it came to dinner time they found just the perfect restaurant where I`ve had the best Sashlik I`ve ever had. Thank you Tatyana and Roman, I will certainly tell all my colleagues and friends who intend on visiting Almaty.

For the begining Tatyana`s approach was very profesional. When I posted on Indy Guide what kind of tour I want she made me several offers. It was lot if texting between us untill we reached a deal. All that time she was very helpful and understanding and giving her best to make positive outcome. The tour was very well organized starting from itinary to accommodation and meals. She took care of us and made sure that we`re all enjoying the tour. Furthermore, she presented informations on interesting way. We took the two-day tour to Altyn Emel and Charyn Canyon with Tatyana and had a fantastic time! Tatyana is an excellent communicator which made booking the trip and making the arrangements simple. Tatyana is very easy to talk to, so when she is telling you information it is like a normal conversation not a lecture. The driver was her husband Roman, who not only handled the difficult roads very well but was an important member of the trip socially. I had a very good experience with Tatyana! Although family circumstances prevented Tatyana from accompanying my husband and I on the trip we booked, she was very organized and easy to communicate with from start to finish. She organized our trip for us and set us up with another local guide (Aknur), who was also terrific. Before the trip, we had many questions and Tatyana always responded helpfully and promptly! And although her son was ill and required her care on the day of our tour, she still came to our hotel very early in the morning to meet with us and introduce us to our replacement guide. Afterwards, Tatyana apologized again for not being able to join us, and inquired about our trip and our experience with the guide. She`s very personable and friendly, and works hard to ensure her guests have a smooth, comfortable, custom experience. Booking the trip was surprisingly easy! I really wanted to visit both Charyn Canyon and Kaindy Lake on a one day trip. Many tour companies told me this wasn`t possible, and that`s how I found IndyGuide! It was my first time using this website, and it really simplified my trip. I got to do exactly what I wanted to do, and it was actually really easy to set up! Tatyana and I sent a few messages back and forth over the details of the trip, and then I booked my ideal trip - all in the span of less than an hour! It was great to travel with a local guide. Aknur, Tatyana`s colleague, was very knowledgeable and passionate about her country. We talked about a wide range of subjects during our long drive: from geography to religion to history and politics! My husband and I felt free to ask questions about lots of different subjects and we both learned a lot. By the end of the day, it felt like we were just enjoying a road trip with friends! Although the driving distances were long, we were very comfortable in our private minivan. Sometimes we were on very bumpy roads, but the good suspension of our vehicle and comfortable seats made for an easy journey. Our driver was very safe and always tried to chose the best and most efficient routes. He was also very kind - he frequently asked if we wanted to buy something, use the washroom or photograph a beautiful view. We had lots of space to stretch out and store our bags, and we could stop if we wanted to. The trip itself was wonderful! Kaindy Lake and Charyn Canyon are two incredibly scenic, must-visit places. We had enough time to enjoy both spots, walking around and taking pictures. I would definitely recommend this type of travel to other independent travelers who want freedom from tour groups - but the information and personal touch that a guide can offer. Of course, I would recommend this specific tour visiting two of Kazakhstan`s most beautiful places. I had a great experience on tour with Aknur and organized by Tatyana. A highly recommendable and enjoyable trip!

I stayed in Almaty for 5 days to visit a friend and visited Tamgaly with Tatyana on 6th April, 2018. It was a one-day trip of approximately 9 hours. Tatyana was a knowledgeable, bright and professional guide. Although I booked the trip with relatively short notice, her responses were so quick that I could smoothly settle the plan. On the day, she with her driver came to my hotel in time and we started the day. On the way from Almaty city center to Tamgaly, she introduced Almaty’s history, people’s way of living and cultures (e.g. why so many ethnic groups exist in Almaty) as well as answered to my questions (e.g. what are most popular jobs, recent economic situations, local foods, etc.) in depth, which made my understanding of the country deeper and made my trip more memorable. Her English was very good so there was no problem of communication. After we arrived at Tamgaly, she walked me through many petroglyphs respectively (e.g. what each petroglyphs show, different views from different researchers, etc.), which was indispensable for me to properly understand the meaning of the relics. She let me see the petroglyphs in one site as much as I want before moving to next site. We had a late lunch (BTW, lunch was included in the fee, which was not the case for many other similar excursions to Tamgaly) and then went back to Almaty. Tamgaly was a very interesting place to visit. There were many many petroglyphs which you can observe in almost zero distance and I took a lot of pictures. It was sort of miraculous for such old petroglyphs from B.C ages to remain in the middle of savannah until today and I felt really excited looking at them, a bit of feeling as if I were an archaeologist. It was first time for me to observe this kind of very old relics remaining in the nature and the experience was for me with no doubt worth the time to visit there. INDY GUIDE was a good platform where you can easily find tours with very transparent payment systems including a clear fee quote, which was very helpful especially in Amalty where there are not that many tourism companies on streets. Overall, if you have one day you can carve out during your stay in Almaty and feel lured by seeing petroglyphs to some extent, I highly recommend visiting Tamgaly. Tamgaly was beyond my expectation I had before the trip and Tatyana was a top-notch tour guide for that.
