Day Tour To Iskanderkul Lake From Samarkand & Dushanbe

Day 1: Jartepa chegara bojxona posti, A377, Uzbekistan to Iskanderkul, Tajikistan

Meeting at Jartepa border crossing point with our driver at 8am. Start driving toward Iskanderkul lake (170km; 200min). Along the way enjoy beautiful landscapes of Fann mountains and Zerafshan river everywhere. Stop at beautiful sceneries for taking pics. According to legend, Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, known in the East as Iskander. It is said that the path of Alexander the Great to India passed through this lake. There are also operating boats on which you can take a boat tour of the lake. The shore of the lake is estimated at 4km, and the depth is 70 m. You can have lunch in a local restaurant nearby. Later walk to Snake lake from where a great view of the lakes opens. After that, you will walk to a 50-meter waterfall, which the locals compare with Niagara and call the Fann Niagara (Niagara Fana). After visiting the lake, we return to the border (170km; 200 min drive). End of tour!
