Day Trip To Issyk Lake And The Turgen Gorge

Day 1: Almaty, Kazakhstan to Lake Issyk, Kazakhstan

08:00 Meeting with a driver in Almaty and transfer to Issyk Lake. 09:00 On the way visit Issyk Museum. In Issyk many archaeological sites, mounds, burials of the Golden Man were found. Issyk is a picturesque, alpine lake surrounded by unusually beautiful nature of dense forests and wide flower fields. The lake is located at an altitude of 1760 meters above sea level, at the Issyk gorge of the Zailiysky Alatau, about 70 km east of Almaty. 12:00 After tour, transfer to Turgen Gorge (25 km) Turgen Gorge at Ile-Alatau National Park (90 km from Almaty) is an ideal place to enjoy the beauty of nature. The gorge is also famous for its waterfalls. One of the attractions of the Turgen gorge is the Bear Falls. It is located just a kilometer from the road and getting to it is not difficult. The waterfall is located at an altitude of 1559 meters above sea level. 14:00 Lunch or picnic at the waterfall. 16:00 After lunch, return to Almaty.
