After shops directly driving towards to Manzushir monastery for 50 km from Ulaanbaatar. Manzushir monastery located in the lush Bogd Khan Mountain Protected Area. The ruins of the Manzushir monastery (destroyed in 1938). Many Buddhas are painted on the rocks, and one of them is two meters (6.56 feet) high. Together this presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests, and Gobi-type landscape in one location. These stays among locals will give you the opportunity to share the daily life of your hosts and taking part in their tasks. After breakfast, we will drive to off-road Orkhon waterfall for 200 km. Have lunch in a village of Khujirt and after you will arrive in Orkhon waterfall. The Orkhon waterfall formed by combination volcanic eruption and earthquakes some 20000 years ago, cascades down from an h 27 meters. Many bigger and smaller rivers flow into the Orkhon waterfall. The Orkhon river has many species of fish like the pike, Siberian gray, roach, Siberian dace, SilurianOrkhon, carp, and lake layer. After breakfast, we will drive towards Karakorum city & Erdenezuu monastery for 120 km. Lunch served, on the way. The most prominent historical site in Orkhon Valley is the Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol empire. The Karakorum, founded in 1220 by Genghis khan, was not only the capital of the vast Mongolian Empire but the epic center of trade of Silk Road. However, the Karakorum of today is a small settlement of little focus on tourism. Upon arrival in the village, we will visit the museum of Karakorum and learn about the beautiful ancient Karakorum. Then we will visit the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex about Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. After returning to the vehicle, head to tonight’s Ger guesthouse.
After breakfast, we will drive towards to Ugii lake for 100 km from the Karakorum. Lunch served, on the way. Ugii lake is 30 km north-east of Ugii Nuur soum center and in the Orkhon River Valley belonging to Steppe Natural Zone. This fresh-water lake has herbaceous grasses and is surrounded by steppes. Around this lake, there are many swamps, ponds, flood plains, pastures, and sandy areas. This lake was registered for Ramsay’s convention for protecting swampy environments suitable to waterbirds because many species of rare birds including ducks, gooses, swans, spoonbills, and Dalmatian pelicans visit here.
