The trip was well organized, with good rest stops and dinner. Nothing was missing. The only issue was communication, since the guide doesn’t speak English very well. You should have mentioned this in advance, because I think good communication is very important to most travelers during a trip. Thank you for everything!
Fantastic tour of eastern Mongolia despite fall conditions. I booked this tour for mid to late October of 2025, and was blown away at how fantastic it was! Firstly, communications with Tsaagii was very easy and relatively fast (My home time zone is 12 hours behind Mongolia so there was a little bit of delay time there). I went into this trip wanting to know relatively little besides the basics of yurt stays, horseback riding, trekking, etc. As such, I can't say I was disappointed by anything because I really didn't know what I was getting myself into. Once I arrived in Mongolia, Tsaagii gave me the contact of my guides, Serjee and Togi — a husband and wife — who served as my driver and my tour guide. I started by being picked up conveniently from my hostel in Ulaanbaatar and we started driving eastward, stopping for lunch and at a grocery store to do some quick shopping for food. Our first destination was a chain of lakes where we stayed the night. I would assume during warmer times of year, we would've hiked around the lakes, but seeing as it was about -10c (14f) we all decided to head to our campsite for the night. Every day after this was detailed exactly as in the posting with a couple of exceptions due to the weather (specifically staying at more hotels since many of the campsites were already closed for the season). Serjee and Togi were fantastic and I can't highly recommend them enough! Togi was our 'driver' while Serjee was our 'tour guide', though they both are qualified to do both. Serjee's english is excellent and I greatly enjoyed conversing with her throughout the 8 days about many different topics. They were both extremely accommodating for my first time being in Mongolia, and even partook in some of my silly American traditions (smoking a cigar after my American football team beat one of our main rivals) Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to come to Mongolia! While my trip did not include as much outdoor time as I might've expected, which in retrospect was a good thing considering how cold it was, it was still well worth the time and money. Driving through the Mongolian steppe with little to no cellular connections, reconnecting with nature and daydreaming was truly a wonderful experience! I look forward to coming back to Mongolia in the future, and when it's warmer outside, and doing another tour either with Serjee, Togi, or Tsaagii
