Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Paro International Airport, Paro, Bhutan to Thimphu, Bhutan
Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, our guide and driver will receive and escort you to visit the National Museum to learn about the history & rich cultural heritage of Bhutan. From there drive to the capital city Thimphu (55km, 1.5-hour) and visit the Buddha Dordhenma Statue seated majestically overlooking Thimphu Valley, visit the Weaving Center to learn about the weaving culture and tradition of Bhutan. In the evening, spend some free time exploring the streets of Thimphu. Dinner and overnight at Kuenphen Rabten Resort or Hotel Amodhara
Day 2: Thimphu, Bhutan to Punakha, Bhutan
Today, you'll do a 2-3 hour round trip hike to 13th-century Tango Monastery through pristine forests. After lunch visit Zorig Chusum where 13 traditional arts & crafts of Bhutan are taught. Then, drive to Punakha via scenic Dochula Pass & enjoy the grand view of some of the highest peaks of Bhutan. In Punakha, visit the famous Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility) & explore the nearby village. Dinner and overnight at Meri Puensum Resort or Zen Punakha or Lala Homestay. (Homestay is subject to availability)
Day 3: Punakha, Bhutan to Phobjikha Valley, Wangdue Phodrang, Bhutan
Today after breakfast, hike to the picturesque Khamsum Yuellay Namgyel Chorten overlooking the Punakha Valley. After lunch, visit the masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture, 17th-century Punakha Dzong and then walk to the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan that runs over Pho Chu. Punakha Dzong is flanked by two glacial-fed rivers, Pho Chu (male) and Mo Chu (female). Then drive to Phobjikha valley, one of the pristine glacial valleys in Bhutan and winter home to endangered Black-necked Crane. Dinner and overnight at Phuentsho Yangkhil Resort or Hotel Phobjikha.
Day 4: Phobjikha Valley, Wangdue Phodrang, Bhutan to Paro, Bhutan
After breakfast, drive to visit Gangtey Monastery, the starting point of the popular hiking activity called Gangtey Nature Trail. The trail is about 5km and takes approximately 2-3 hours through a pristine valley surrounded by splendid nature all around. After lunch, drive back to Paro and visit one of the oldest temples in Bhutan, the 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang believed to have been built overnight by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. The driving distance is about 175km and takes 4.5-5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Bhutan Mandala Resort or Shomo Chuki Resort.
Day 5: Paro, Bhutan to Taktsang, Bhutan
After an early breakfast, hike up to the famous Taktsang Monastery. The round trip hike takes about 4-5 hours for most visitors. Horse riding is available on your way up to the mid point (Taktsang Viewpoint Cafeteria) but the journey is best enjoyed on foot. Horse riding may not be allowed on your way down. Later in the evening, visit a beautiful farmhouse for home-cooked local cuisine. If interested, soak up in a traditional hot stone bath believed to have a therapeutic & revitalizing effect. Overnight at Bhutan Mandala Resort or Shomo Chuki Resort.
Day 6: Paro, Bhutan to Paro International Airport, Paro, Bhutan
Depending on your flight departure time, you'll be transferred to the Paro International Airport for your onward journey.

We can help with the arrangement of flights to and from Bhutan or you may directly purchase from the airlines' websites: Drukair (www drukair.com.bt) or Bhutan Airlines (www.bhutanairlines.bt). - All entry fees are not included and will be payable directly at the monuments as you visit them. The total cost is approximately EUR 55.00 per person. What to know
- This tour can be customized and run on a private basis just for you and your group. - We highly recommend booking at least a few months before the departure date so that we have enough time to ensure the flights are available. If you already have flight tickets to and from Bhutan, we can take bookings up to a week before the departure date. To process the visa, it only takes 5-7 business days. - There are only two airlines that connect Bhutan with the outside world and so securing air tickets can be difficult, especially during the months of high season. Currently, Bhutan is connected with these cities - Bagdogra, Bangkok, Delhi, Dhaka, Dubai, Guwahati, Kathmandu, Kolkata, and Singapore. We recommend you book your international flights a few months in advance especially if you plan to visit during the high season months of March to May and September to November. If you need help in arranging flights to/from Bhutan, please let us know much in advance. - After you book the tour, kindly send us clear copies of passports and headshot photos of all the participants. A biodata page including the machine-readable zone must be seen clearly. Passports should have a minimum of 6 MONTHS validity from the day you depart from Bhutan. You may also want to check the passport requirements by your next destination country after Bhutan. A copy of your e-Visa will be emailed to you once it is approved. It only takes 5-7 business days to get visa approval and it is 100 percent guaranteed as long as we receive clear passport copies of all the participants. The actual visa will be stamped on your passport upon arrival. - All participants below the age of 19 are required to be accompanied by at least one adult. - A copy of your e-Visa will be sent to you before you travel. Kindly ensure that you either carry a printed copy or have it readily available on your mobile device, as it must be presented at the check-in counter for your flight to Bhutan. Failure to present proof of a valid e-Visa may result in denied boarding. - Our guide and the driver will pick you up from Paro International Airport
