Day 1: Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Kalaikhum, Tajikistan
Day 1: Dushanbe → Kalaikhum Distance: ~350 km | Driving time: 8–9 hours Travel east from Dushanbe into the mountains, following the Panj River, the natural border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan and a historic Silk Road route. Highlights: • Dramatic river gorges and mountain scenery • Afghan villages visible across the river • First immersion into Pamiri landscapes Overnight: Guesthouse in Kalaikhum
Day 2: Kalaikhum, Tajikistan to Khorog, Tajikistan
Day 2: Kalaikhum → Bartang Valley → Jizev Village → Khorog Distance: ~300 km | Driving time: 8–9 hours Enter the remote Bartang Valley, one of the wildest regions of the Pamirs.
