Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Ikh Gazriin Chuluu, Mongolia

Day 1: Ikh Gazriin chuluu Natural Reserve The guide and driver will pick you up from your accommodation in the morning and drive to the Middle Gobi. Ikh Gazriin Chuluu Natural Reserve is 100 km2 granite stone plain. The rocks are like grown layer on layer. Beautiful nature to hike. We will visit a small cave, a tiny ruined temple in the rocky valley. This place has Argali wild sheep. Road length 250 km

Day 2: Baga Gazriin Chuluu, Mongolia to Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), Mongolia

Day 2 Tsagaan suvraga After breakfast, drive to Tsagaan suvraga. On the way, you will see folk of vultures soaring on carrion, camels and the scene of the Gobi desert. Camels are grazing in the endless steppe. Goat and sheep are laying on the road. The desert is heaven for an animal when they are close to the water well. We will walk around Tsagaan suvraga. This place is nice to take a photo. Then we will get a hotel on the steppe. You can see empty endless steppe just through your window. Road length 200 km

Day 3: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), Mongolia

Day 3: Rock painting Morning, we will drive to Bronz-Ages rock painting. The area of this place is black, empty and remote. But still, there are some camels, sheep, goat and nomadic families. Some people say this place is like the other planet. You will discover the messages of primitive people by carved. The paintings are a lot; nature is fascinating. Drive back to camp, have lunch and relax. Road length 60 km

Day 4: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), Mongolia to Yolin Am Ice Field, Mongolia

Day 4: Yoliim am Today we will visit Yoliim am valley (Vulture gorge). The valley locates in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National park. Have lunch in Dalanzadgad town. When we reach the park, we will visit a small natural museum. The main Gobi’s findings of minerals, the desert animal taxidermies, dinosaur fossils, petrified stones are in the museum. In Yoliin am valley, you will walk through the gorge. Here you will see a bearded vultures flying above the high rocks. On land, pikas running from hole to hole. Ibexes- a wild goat drinks water from the stream here, sometimes we see ibex. Road length 160 km

Day 5: Yolin Am Ice Field, Mongolia to Hongorïn Els, Mongolia

Day 5: Hongor sand dunes and camel ride Today we will drive to Hongor dunes – the southernmost landscapes in the tour. The fascinating thing is the landscape of the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan mountain, and the dune locates parallel. We will drive between them. The dune is 130 km long. Nomadic families live with their sheep, goat, and camels here. On the way, we will visit the Gobi desert nomadic family. We will arrive at the tourist Ger camp at lunch. Afternoon, ride a camel and climb to dunes. It is 200-meter high loose sand. Relax in camp. 170 km

Day 6: Hongorïn Els, Mongolia

Day 6: Hongor rivere and duning Today is a relaxing day staying in the same place. We will have a small walk around the Gobi desert stream and green part. The dune is just beside the stream. You can hike or walk how you want. Also here is Gobi’s berry – Mongolian wild black wolfberry grows along with Hongor Gobi river.

Day 7: Hongorïn Els, Mongolia to Flaming Cliffs, Mongolia

Day 7: Bayanzag Today, we will drive to Bayanzag. If you are hiker, we can hike through the mountain. Bold, black mountains are just on the way. After lunch, we will walk through Flaming cliffs. Bayanzag - Cliff was the homeland of dinosaurs during the Jurassic period. Dinosaur’s eggshell was founded very first time in the world from this place. Bayanzag is red cliffs on the endless empty steppe. It was bottom of the sea or big lake during the Jurassic era. Then we will drive to the Ger camp which locates the middle of nowhere in the steppe. 155 km

Day 8: Bayanzag, Bulgan, Mongolia to Ongi Monastery, Saikhan-Ovoo, Mongolia

Day 8: Ongi ruined temple To get the central part of Mongolia, we drive trans – Ongi ruined temple. Today we will drive off-road to Ongi. Here we will visit the ruined temple and a little walk through a black mountain. The temple locates beside the Ongi River. The temple was ruined in 1937 during political purge by the Soviet Union. The temple was built in 1760 by Buddhist monks, and nearly 1000 monks had lived before it ruined. 250 km

Day 9: Ongi Monastery, Saikhan-Ovoo, Mongolia to Kharkhorin, Mongolia

Day 9: Kharhorin Erdenezuu monastery The morning we will drive to a small village Karakorum which was an ancient Mongol empire’s capital. We will visit Mongolian biggest Buddhist monastery Erdene Zuu. Later visit the museum of the history of Chinggis Khaan. Evening in the camp we will watch traditional folk music concert which includes throat singing and contortion. Stay in tourist Ger camp.

Day 10: Kharkhorin, Mongolia to Khorgo Trekhiin Tsagaan Nuur, Mongolia

Day 10: Horgo volcano The morning we will drive to Horgo volcano. We will go through fascinating Green mountain landscapes. Green lushes covered by nomadic Gers and animals. Have lunch in a local restaurant in Tsetserleg town. In Tsetserleg town, we will visit a small ethnic museum. And hike through a volcano. Ride a horse in mountain forest terrain. We will visit nomad family which has yaks, sheep, goat and horse. Stay in nomad family’s spare ger guest house. Road length 270 km

Day 11: Khorgo Volcana, Mongolia to Tsenkher Hot Spring Resort, Altan-Ovoo, Mongolia

Day 11: Tsenher hot spring Morning hours, we will drive through Hangai mountain and arrive at hot spring camp at lunchtime. The hot spring is 86 Celsium from underground. The Tourist camps have their swimming pool in a fence. You can relax in the pool from 7 AM – 10 PM. Optional hike around the stream of hot spring.

Day 12: Tsenkher Hot Spring Resort, Altan-Ovoo, Mongolia to Khugnu Tarna, Mongolia

Day 12: Hugnu Khaan Mountain Khugnu haan mountain is the next different fascinating landscape. This is a granite rock mountain range in the steppe. And it has sand dune in its southern part. We will hike through the mountain. 200 km

Day 13: Khugnu Tarna, Mongolia to Khustain Nuruu, Mongolia

Morning, drive to Hustai National Park to see Przewalski’s horse, the only wild horse left in the world. As the park has protected, wild animals gathered themselves there. And after 25 years, a number of them are increased a lot. Marmots will entertain you in the Birch forest mountain-Hustai Park. You can hike there. Road length 180 km

Day 14: Khustain Nuruu, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Morning, drive to Ulaanbaatar. In UB, we will have lunch. And we will watch a traditional folk music concert.
