Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Ulgii, Mongolia
Fly to Ulgii town. Our tour guide will pick you up at airport and take you to your hotel which will be the one of the best. After the lunch at a restaurant, you will have time to explore Ulgii and its surroundings with your guide. Visit the town museum, the open-air market and a hill top lookout that gives good view of the town. Some rest at your hotel before the dinner. Free time to walk in the town center after the dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: Ulgii, Mongolia to Chikhertei, Mongolia
We will drive towards a village called Chichertei to meet an old but true eagle hunter. The family is a nomadic herder family as well. The family will be staying in their Augtumn camp in the mountains that is a perfect place for eagle hunting. The drive takes 3-4 hour. Overnight is in a wooden house or yurt.
Day 3: Chikhertei, Mongolia
Hunting day 1 We will ride horses and go to the nearby mountains tops to witness the Kazakh eagle hunters in action with their golden eagles.
Day 4: Chikhertei, Mongolia
HUNTING DAY 2 We will ride horses and go to the nearby mountains tops to witness the Kazakh eagle hunters in action with their golden eagles.
Day 5: Chikhertei, Mongolia
HUNTING DAY 3 We will ride horses and go to the nearby mountains tops to witness the Kazakh eagle hunters in action with their golden eagles.
Day 6: Chikhertei, Mongolia to Rashaant, Mongolia
Drive to Blue Goat Mountains for wildlife watching. Since the area is protected, it is guaranteed to see wildlife such as wild sheep (Altai argali), wild goat (Siberian ibex), fox, even wolf and some birds of prey. Driving via Tolbo and Deluun villages, arrive in the late afternoon at another nomad herder family. Receive the warm welcome of the family.
Day 7: Rashaant, Mongolia
WILDLIFE WATCHING DAY In the morning mounting on our horses we’ll follow our host into the mountains. Living his life in these mountains he’ll take us to the right places where the wildlife will be. Return in the late afternoon and free time to observe the way of life and culture of steppe people.
Day 8: Rashaant, Mongolia to Ulgii, Mongolia
BACK TO ULGII Drive back to Ulgii. Check in your hotel and do some souvenir shopping for hand embroidered souvenirs. Farewell dinner at a restaurant.
Day 9: Ulgii, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Fly back to Ulaanaatar. We’ll transfer you to the airport. Fly out of Ulgii to Ulaanbaatar.
