Gulkam Canyon Daytrip From Tashkent
About this tour
A day hiking tour in the mountains of Ugam-Chatcal national park including rock climbing at the bottleneck of the canyon. The hiking trail starts in Chimgan ski resort and ends on Charvak lake recreation area.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Ugam-Chatkal National Park, Uzbekistan
9-00 - 11-00: Transfer from Tashkent to the confluence of Mazarsay and Gulkamsay sais (1200 m.). 11-00 - 15-30: Walk in the Gulkam gorges. Here you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Gulkam gorges, their sheer cliffs, as well as "baths" on the cascade of waterfalls. Along the way there will be numerous crossings across the river, where you may have to get your feet wet, so it is advisable to have changeable shoes (+200 m, -200 m). 12-30 - 13-30: Picnic lunch in the gorges. 15-30-17-30: Return to Tashkent along the beautiful Charvak lake shore.

What to know
During the climbing down to the canyon the tourists need to change the trekking boots to the sandals to cross over a small natural bathtub with water.
