About this tour

A two-day tour combining a mountain hike in the famous Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve and an introduction to the legendary Turkestan and its history of the Great Silk Road.

Hiking in the mountains along a special trail accompanied by a reserve guide (horseback riding is possible) to the Kishi Kaindy waterfall or Aksu Canyon. The legendary Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve is the oldest reserve in the country and has more than 100 years of history. The reserve is located about 100 km from the city of Shymkent in the Western Tien Shan Mountains. The landscape of the nature reserve is diverse, as is the animal world. Snow leopards, bears, porcupines, foxes and wolves are known to live here. The diversity of plants will also surprise visitors, who will be greeted by St. John's wort, Greig and Kaufman tulips, yarrow and chamomile. Alpine flowers look especially beautiful on the slopes of snow-capped mountains.

Transfer from the nature reserve to the steppe and desert part of the region in Turkestan. On the way, visit the abandoned city of ruins of Otyrar and the memorial complex of the most important saint in Central Asia, Arystan Bab. Transfers are carried out by car with an individual driver.
