Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Ulgii, Mongolia to Khoton Lake, Mongolia

After breakfast you will drive to the Sirgali valley. (about 180 km, 5-6 hours drive.) Overnight in the tent. B.L.D

Day 2: Khoton Lake, Mongolia to Baga turgen khurkheree, Mongolia

Hiking day to the Baga Turgen waterfall. Overnight in the tent. B.L.D

Day 3: Baga turgen khurkheree, Mongolia to Khoton Lake, Mongolia

Hiking day to the Zagaslgol by shore of Hoton lake. Overnight in the tent. B.L.D

Day 4: Khoton Lake, Mongolia to Aral Tolgoi, Mongolia

Hiking day to Aral tolgoi. Overnight in the tent. B.L.D

Day 5: Aral Tolgoi, Mongolia to Алтай таван богд цагаан голын пост, Mongolia

Drive to the Tsagaan gol valley. (about 180km,5-6 hours drive). On the way, you can see stone men of the Turkic age and large burial grounds, Khirgisuurs and modern graves of the Kazakh people of various type. Tsagaan gol from the translation means the White River, this is the valley of the summer place of nomadic Tuvan peoples. Overnight in the tent. B.L.D

Day 6: Алтай таван богд цагаан голын пост, Mongolia to Potanin Glacier, Mongolia

. Today we'll load our equipment and food on camels and we will hike the 16 km to the Base Camp. 2900 m above sea level. Here, we'll set up camp at the Base Camp next to Potanin Glacier – the largest glacier in Mongolian Altai. (20 km long). We will camp here for two nights to enjoy the stunning spectacle which is Tavan Bogd. Tavan Bogd means “The Holy Five”. They are the Mongolian highest peak Huiten (4373 m ), Naran, Burged, Nairamdal and Machin peaks. All snowcapped. Overnight in tents. B.L.D.

Day 7: Potanin Glacier, Mongolia to Malchin Peak, Mongolia

Today we'll climb Malchin Peak (non-technical) 4050 m above sea level and enjoy the beautiful views of majestic mountains Russia and China from a distance. It takes 7- 8 hours to climb up and down from peak. Overnight in tents. B.L.D.

Day 8: Potanin Glacier, Mongolia to Алтай таван богд цагаан голын пост, Mongolia

Trek down to the Tsagaan gol valley, which is the summer camps of the Tuvan people. You can visit the Tuvan family and get acquainted with their daily life, traditions and try milk vodka, which is distilled from yaks milk. We will have time, before the sunset, to hike up to the valley where there is a beautiful Green lake. Overnight in tents. B.L.D.

Day 9: Алтай таван богд цагаан голын пост, Mongolia to Ulgii, Mongolia

After breakfast we will drive back to Olgii. Vizit to the local Museum and handcraft souvenir shops to make pleasant surprises for your loved ones. Here you can pick up something definitely Mongolian to remember about the journey. Today, you will spend the night in the my geror in my apartment, where only you will be left without other tourists. Here you are treated to the national dish “Beshbarmak", which every hospitable Kazakh people treat their most honored guests. After that you will enjoy a national Kazakh etno-follkore concert.

It has a extreme continental climate with long, cold winters and short summers, during which most precipitation falls. However, in summer, it can even get cold at night. The local people have a saying that there a 4 typically seasons in one day.
