Now it is called Bokhtar, because it once marked the northern border of the ancient state of Bactria.Half an hour southeast of Bokhtar is located the township of Kirov, where interned ethnic Germans used to live. And one kilometer from that settlement, there is a village and a hill, nicknamed Ajina-Teppa, or “witch’s hill”. After visiting Ajinateppa we will driving to Qubodiyon to visit Qalai Qubod then drive to Takhti Sangin Takht-i Sangin (Tajik: "Throne of Stone") is an archaeological site located near the confluence of the Vakhsh and Panj rivers, the source of the Amu Darya, in southern Tajikistan. During the Hellenistic period it was a city in the Greco-Bactrian kingdom with a large temple dedicated to the Oxus (Vakhsh river), which remained in use in the following Kushan period, until the third century AD. The site may have been the source of the Oxus Treasure Somewhere between 5,000 and 8,000 other votive offerings in gold, silver, bronze, iron, lead, glass, plaster, terracotta, precious stones, limestone, shell, bone, ivory, and wood have been found. Most of these were located in the central hall of the temple and the corridors behind it, both above ground and in buried caches. These votives include portraits of Greco-Bactrian kings, jewellery, and furniture, but especially weapons and armour. Many of these votives were probably buried when the community was sacked by the Kushans in the 130s BC. After the sack, the rest of the site was abandoned, but the temple remained in use until the third century AD, with the Kushans continuing to dedicate weapons, especially arrowheads, in very large numbers. Day 3: Shahrtuz, Tajikistan to National Library of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, Tajikistan

The last day we will drive to Beshkent qala! Beshkent Qala is located in Nosiri Khusrav District. The fort is not far from the Chilucharchashma springs (44 Springs). Built on an artificial hill, there are remnants of mudbrick walls and the remains of a castle. Some carvings can be seen on the outer walls. The castle was in use very late, from the 6th century BC to the 4th century AD and from the 17th to the 20th century AD. It is one of the best examples of an ancient fort in Southern Tajikistan. It is located just outside the town of Beshkapa, about 10 km west of Shahrtuz. Two sections of the outer brick walls are in very good condition and can be seen from the road. The fort is said to date from the 1600s and was used until the 1920s when it was destroyed during the Soviet Red Army invasion. If you walk over the clay mounds that were once defensive walls, the curved outlines of the old moat can be seen in several places below. After visiting Chiluchor chashma and swimming the We will be driving to Dushanbe
